From the bottom of the colosseum where the slaves/Gladiators were kept, to the Area. Tip would be to do it at night. As we did. Fantastic and beautiful l.

Walking through the actual tunnels where the gladiators and animals walked through. To stand on the stage where they performed. Everything lite up at night was an amazing experience!!

  3. Christine_M

What a magical place and at night even better with fewer crowds. We loved the history and details explained as we walked back in time. The engineering feat that created the colosseum is mind boggling. Guide was great. Headset uncomfortable but ok.

So so at best! 90 minutes tour though there would be more for the more!
The guide was was informative however a lot of money for what?

We had toured the coliseum that morning and was concerned that it would be a waist of time to do it again, but already paid for.
It was phenomenal. We went different areas, heard some of the same stories, but we inedible them better. Fantastic

What an amazing way to see the Colosseum. No crowds, no sun, a slightly creepy atmosphere. It was also the perfect length.

  7. Brad_R

Very knowledgeable guide and well run tour. Seeing at night is a different experience. Highly recommend.

  8. Edward_O

What a great experience! Wonderful guide – very knowledgeable. The Coliseum is very different at night – well worth the price….highly recommend.

Coliseum at night is extraordinary, and away from the crowds. Our guide was a big disappointment. Her spiel was very superficial, not relatable, and lacking actual knowledge.

  10. Nick_C

The tour was interesting and nice at night with lights and no crowds compared to daytime tours. The tour guide spoke pretty fast and was a bit hard to understand everything compared to other guides we had on other tours.

For a family of 4 (including two small children), we paid $370 USD (about €335) for these tickets. When we arrived at the meeting spot, we were given a voucher for entry to the Colesseum which showed that each entry ticket cost €22 (therefore €88 total). We had assumed that the very high price for the tour was due to a premium to enter the site at night, but it turns out all of the huge markup is for the tour company. I would have been happy to pay the premium for the two adults, but charging that fee for little children as well seems quite immoral to me. On top of that, the tour guide, was very difficult to understand on the headset system that was distributed for our use. She was a lovely young woman who did a good job, but the combination of her very strong accent, and the technology used made it extremely difficult to understand her. Again, for the adults we understood her enough to make it acceptable, but our children quickly threw off the headsets so we had to explain/answer questions ourselves for them. For a decent price I would have accepted all of the above, but the price we paid was ridiculous for the experience we had. I would strongly encourage people to skip the night tour, and just pay the standard day time entry fee.

The colosseum is amazing at night. However, our tour guide was terrible. He initially led the group into a secure area and colosseum staff had to remove our tour from the secure area while he had a heated discussion with colosseum staff. Additionally, my elderly mother needed to use the restroom, and the tour just left and we never located our tour or guide again during our visit to the colosseum.

The history and understanding by our guide. The lack of crowds is as great. Different aspects of looking at the underground in the dark

We never even got to go. They cancelled the tour for us. Said too many people but had our entire day planned for the evening . Very dissatisfied. Hope to be getting a refund ….

We enjoyed touring the Colosseum at night. It is a great option for those who want to avoid the day heat (it gets super hot in Rome in summer during the day) and there is no shade.
The tour was excellent and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer any additional questions we asked. It started off with the underground where they kept all the animals and ended at the stage.

Excellent. Must do. Learned so much. The night tour was so cool, small and fun.
    Can’t say enough good things.
    Worth every penny

The colosseum was amazing and beautiful, but we had to wait in li e for awhile despite being part of a paid tour and the tour was so so

  18. Krystle_V

The tour was a complete scam. We were told and paid for a small group of 6. They ended up putting over 4 groups together in 1 tour… I counted over 24 people and still charged us the price for the small group. As a result it was very difficult to see under the stage area of the colosseum as well as to interact with our tour guide. The tour also started 25 mins late.

An absolute must! Best tour we did throughout Italy. No large crowds, lines. Scott was a great guide, very funny. It’s incredible to be inside at night.

My husband and I were very excited for this night tour but we were informed they had sold too many tickets and we could not come. We had to change our travel plans which was very confusing. It felt very unprofessional to still have a listing up that the tickets were sold for
