Just the tickets to get in to the building. Was very nice to be able to skip the line for entry, but wish it had options for “full experience” with entry to downstairs. That said, having the 24hr entry to Palantine/Forum was great because it closed after we finished at the Colosseum.

I think this is falsely advertised. You can no longer buy tickets on the door to the Colosseum so there is no line to skip. Everyone has to buy tickets online with timed entry so this ticket from Viator is just a regular ticket and it’s not worth paying extra for this ticket with Viator as you have to join the queue with everyone else (for security checks) and it won’t save you any time. Much better to buy via the official website for about half the price. Rated lowly because of this, but the actual experience was good albeit very busy.
I’d recommend the amphitheatre in El Jem (Tunisia) for a less busy Roman amphitheatre experience. It’s a little bit smaller but you can wonder freely around the whole amphitheatre including the underground areas so you get to see a lot more and you’ll pretty much have the whole place to yourself.

Sadly, this booking is memorable because of the extreme disappointment and frustration we feel with Dream Tourism as we did not receive our tickets for the tour we had booked. Instead we received an email on the morning of the tour stating that their website had crashed and they were unable to access the tickets that we had booked with them a couple of weeks beforehand. Consequently we had to pay a lot more money for this tour as we had to buy some at the Colosseum on the day of our visit – which included a guided tour that we did not want but had no choice as that was the only ticket available at that time.
Dream Tourism has now refunded the cost of the tickets we booked with them but that does not compensate us for the upset, inconvenience and further expense we incurred.

Booked weeks before travel and paid in full to ensure tickets would be issued (read the small print about book now pay later)
Received an email 4am on morning we were due for visit to colosseum at 10am, to advise “viator experiencing server issues” Had same excuse (stock standard) provided previous time we booked for another tour. Advice was they were trying to resolve and would aim to issue tickets by 12 or refund.
Despite multiple calls, emails and text no reply or further comms from Viator. Managed to call tour provider who advised tour would not go ahead as tickets were not available throughout month. Checked with Italy tourism who confirmed tickets being restricted and withheld
Would not have minded being told earlier to enable alternatives to be explored, or some better response to numerous emails so that we could avoid wasting the day waiting for ticket confirmation that never occurred.

I bought the tickets about 3 weeks in advance. less than 24 hours before the start of the attraction, they wrote to me that due to technical issue with colosseum ticket server are not able to provide my ticket. I tried to communicate with them and find out what I can do now, but they didnt reply. Now im waiting for refund… Hope IT will come.
And the colosseum. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it because it’s my last day in Rome and the lines are long.

Absolutely disgusting! They cancelled our tour and still haven’t refunded us. Tried emailing and calling with no response. Ended up having to find a tour guide outside and spending more money than originally desired. Book with someone else as this is the second problem we’ve had with this group for this trip.

First you got a coupon that you should change for a ticket. The ticket that you should get 7-24 hours before the activity start. I did not got the ticket. I hade to chat with but the operator, and vaitor for hours and after that I got the ticket. Not exactly smooth. I want to order the ticket get the ticket and have the ticket so I know that I can go to the activity. This was realy bad.

The tour itself is really nice and impressive.
Unfortunately I had to contact Viator support team, in order to get the tickets (somehow really stressful), since the tour operator “forgot” to send me the tickets in time (either per Viator or per WhatsApp).

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! They purposely oversell tickets and then claim there were “technical difficulties” and cancel your tickets – regardless whether they’re already paid for or not. That was four days before the event, so right when I was about to start my vacation. They offered me a later time instead so I had to reorganise the entire day (even cancel other tickets I have purchased for other attractions). When asked for confirmation about the new time they ghosted me. I ended up making plans go go to the tickets office at the colosseum at 8 AM (it opens at 9) in order to get tickets last minute, because I did not believe I would receive either tickets or my money back. Although they ended up sending me tickets at 10.30 PM the previous evening and they worked just fine, this never compensated me for the stress. Those new tickets (5 PAX) were for slightly different timeslots within a timespan of 20 minutes. Luckily, the colosseum staff was extremely forthcoming and let us all in together.
I booked tickets ahead in order not to have to worry about such things during my vacation. Thanks to them, this failed.

These are crooks. They don’t have the tickets. If you don’t care if you get into Colosseum or not and don’t care if they change your time or not at the last moment when you can’t find reasonable replacement, then use these. As with a lot of other reviews, you should expect that these guys will face “technical issues on the server” and therefore “we had to change your entrance plans”. Also booked 4 electronic tickets for 2 adults and 2 kids and they made us go to ticket office and wait in line to get kids. tickets due to Colosseum changing rules. So even though I booked 4 tickets, they delivered only 2.
Also whoever runs Colosseum reservation system, they should be alll fired as they enable crooks like these to scalp the tickets. All that is needed is to have named tickets and then none of these problems would exist as it’s impossible to buy tickets now directly from their site as crooks like Dream tourism run the bots that scour the website for tickets the moment they become available.
Colosseum itself is OK definitely a must see if only because it is so ancient. So are Palatine hill and Roman forum Views from Palatine hill are spectacular.

I would give this zero stars if I could – awful, tickets did not ever arrive and they cancelled them 10 minutes after we were meant to be go in – really rude customer service who forced us to whatsapp them to get the tickets when they were promised to be emailed over? Overall a horrible and upsetting experience and still no refund – DO NOT USE VIATOR
