Maya our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She took the time to explain the history of the Colosseum, Palatina Hill and Roman Forum in a way that kept the audience interested and wanting to know more. She offered breaks to use the restrooms or get water. We never felt rushed. Our kids (12 & 15) enjoyed the experience as much as we did. We were so lucky to have Maya as our tour guide. Our guide Alba was excellent, an archeologist who was very knowledgeable. She made the sites come to life.
The process to get set up and into our groups took awhile, but that was due to the sheer number of people who had signed up for the tour. Once the tour started, everything was great. There were about 15 people in our group.

My original tour fell through, so I bought this last minute as it was all I could find available. I think it could have been better under different circumstances – our group included an elderly woman who had significant trouble walking and keeping up and our guide was so focused on them in the coliseum that she didn’t really tell us much information. We also got behind so she rushed us through in order to keep on track. With her accent and the speed that she spoke at, I had some trouble keeping up with the info. The tour lasted WAY too long especially at palatine hill where there wasn’t much to see and I mentally checked out by then – my nephew and I were begging to quit (after numerous other groups already had). It served its purpose in getting us in the coliseum but not my fave tour.

We booked our tour over a month in advance. Our booking was cancelled the day before the tour, and there were no other comparable tours available at that time. They have yet to refund us for it (over 2 weeks later).
