What a rip off! We were unable to book the underground tour of the colosseum direct on the coopculture.it site so opted for this guided tour instead.
The sites are amazing but the much extra money paid for the guide before the colosseum underground tour which is provided direct from the colosseum was not worth it. One of the headphones provided did not work, it is lucky our son was not interested so my husband could use his. Be aware there is no time to go to the toilets so if you are with young kids, it is a bit of a nightmare. My recommendations would be to book direct if you can but definitely not this one which is way too expensive for what is on offer and disappointing!

We enjoyed the tour. The guide was informative and provided us time to see the sites and take pictures. There was an opportunity to leave the tour, if desired. At one point a family with small children was able to leave (this was after about 3 hours). We continued the tour in the Roman Forum and enjoyed all the history and seeing all the sites.

Great experience, the guide was well prepared, had a lot of pictures, information and stories about Colosseum, Palatin and Forum Romanum. We had 3 hours walk and it was absulutely worth the time and money. I can highly recomend.
After the guided tour we could stay as long as we liked and were recomended to go to the museum and other places in the area.
I can recomend operator “Explore Italy”.

This tour was fantastic! Our tour guide, Giorgio, was very knowledgeable and made the history come alive. For anyone looking to visit the Colosseum for the first time or the fifth time, this is the best way to go. I’ll never go back to a standard tour again. Our group was small and we were given plenty of opportunities to take photos, get water, and take a bathroom break.

Our guide was great and knowledgeable with great information. However, we got ditched when we went to the underground. He passed us off to another tour guide that completely left us without any headphone conversation or information during the underground tour. We basically just Walked through it with no guidance or help. We followed another group with a guide with headsets. They received the full tour with guidance. We weren’t so lucky. Seems like the other guide had a few words with our guide when we got back. There was definitely a lack of communication. We did not get the tour we paid for. I would not suggest crown tours to anybody. Very unorganized , they are clueless.

The first guide was over qualified in delivering his information and speaking about something and half of group couldn’t even see what he was speaking about because he was at front of group. A bit of a gong show following tour guide, couldnt see them amongst all the people, second half of tour the guide was late by 30 minutes. A bit disappointed.

The underground portion of tour was well worth the time and money and our favorite thing we saw while in rome. After the underground you move up to the arena which was amazing as well. We saw all the tourist sights in rome but this was our favorite. Make sure you arrive 45 minutes before start time so you can relax and not stress about being late. They are serious about being late which really meant 30 minutes early. If you are late you will not be able to go.

Loved the underground tour and the tour of the forum. The tour guide was fantastic. I liked that the tour used a radio with ear buds rather than a speaker you wrap around your ear. It’s much easier to hear the guide and you can bring your own ear buds if you want a more comfortable for.

When we arrived for the tour we were told the underground portion was cancelled. It also changed from a small group to a large group. Our guide was awesome but it was very very disappointing that we weren’t notified ahead of time OR offered a discount. I had originally just scheduled this tour but cancelled and changed to the colosseum underground AND paid more money for something that didn’t happen. No great reason was given for the change. Via tour should notify their customers ahead of time if possible, or offer some kind of compensation. There were others on our tour this also happened too.
