Do not take the tour in high season. It was so crowded that you did not have time to see even the major pieces. Go in the late fall or winter. The guide was good but the huge crowd made it hard to ake in the beauty of the place.

Great tour very informative, shame it was so busy, public holiday the day we were there, crazy amount of people.

  3. Zach_B

Couldn’t get there due to a parade in Rome…no taxis…not Metro running, would not change our time or offer any remedy…waste of $400

Unorganized and felt like I didn’t have a guide. Too many people inside the Vatican that it ruins the whole experience topped with an awful audio system. The guide left at the entrance of St. Peter’s basilica. It felt like we bought the tour just to use the fast track. Not worth it at all…

Well worth the money to avoid the huge queues. Knowledgable guide. Easy check in- very efficient. Taking the St Peter’s option saved us three hours of queuing.

Our guide did not give us an overview on what the process would be for exploring the Vatican. We spent way too much time on telling us about statues, leaving us little time for the cistine chapel. We explained that we needed to leave early to get back to our bus. The Vatican was so crowded, which took us a long time to go through.

Got the basics, that’s what I wanted.
Guide was not easy to understand at times, his accent and the headsets combined. It was also a very busy time for crowds and it got a bit hot.

Skip the line option is the best thing about this experience!!
The group tour guide, Solomon (she), was good at her explanations BUT it was too fast-paced — I did not mind not being able to keep up with the group. So, maybe I should just have gotten the skip the line package WITHOUT the group tour guide.

Good guide and very knowledgeable. Kept us moving in the crowds and having the fast track access made it so much easier.

Our guide (Rudy) was very knowledgeable & a good person. Went on a Wednesday at 11am & it was very busy since the Basilica was closed until 12. The tour is really only 2.5hrs as the first 30 minutes is walking over, getting tickets & doing security. Although our guide was quite informative, we didn’t actually see much of the museum. We would walk straight through sections of the museum & would be told the name but nothing about it as it “wasn’t a main stop”. He would allow us to take photos but he would keep walking through the museum meaning if you took to long you’d loose your the group. I didn’t like that we walked through the museum without any information about what we were passing. Once we got to a spot we were walking too, he had lots of great information. We missed 90% of the museum. The Chapel was very squishy. No room to even stand. We didn’t do the Basilica because we ran out of time. Rudy was great for the sections we did stop at

Guide was knowledgeable and courteous. Would recommend to Italian speaking people.
The museums were wonderful and Sistene chapel was beautiful.

Excellent tour! Informative, easy, quick entry. Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made sure the group stayed together in very crowded areas.

The tour group was too big. Knowing that these locations are crowded, the group size should be much smaller. I believe it was 24 of us. It was difficult to keep up. The guide also rushed through various parts where beautiful pictures could have been taken. I don’t know why we wouldn’t get photo opportunities when this trip is a once in a lifetime for many people. Many times I had to fall behind in order to get some pictures. At the end I felt like it was super over priced for the experience and wished I had just purchased the Skip-the-tickets and done it on my own.

The original tour was booked for 2pm. I got a text saying it was changed to 5 pm due to circumstances outside their control. That was fine, but we arrived at 430 pm only to be told the tour was actually 5:30 pm. But we couldn’t check in until 5 pm. At 5 pm I was told we couldn’t check in until 510 pm. The tour did not leave until almost 6 pm. We were literally the last people in the Vatican door when they locked them. We were rushed straight though the Sistine chapel room at a brisk walk without even stopping. Most of the tour companies employees were not very nice and the tour guide was super critical of the other tour guides and spent a ton of time on things (like stopping at almost every map in the hall) that were not interesting then rushed though the Sistine chapel. I would not do a tour with this group again.

Pop it guide marilena was incredibly knowledgeable and very kind. She took good care of the whole group making sure nobody got lost along the way in the masses of people. I would have enjoyed a little bit more time in the Sistine chapel. Also other tour guides kept talking to their groups in the Sistine chapel so that it was too noisy to enjoy the beauty of the place. Marilena provided us with a map of St. Peter’ together with explanations of points of interest. I would have preferred the explanations after the Sistine chapel before going to at Peter and not at the beginning of the tour as I had forgotten a few things already.

This was a good way to see the Vatican and its vast museum and art collection. The meeting place was easy to find. Our guide was knowledgeable and always waited for the group. It was very crowded but our guide managed to get us around and we saw lots of interesting pieces.
The amount of time spent in the Sistine Chapel was adequate…we did not feel rushed at all. We also went into St. Peter’s Basilica but that was self guided. Very beautiful to see and didn’t really need too much explanation anyway.
    Loved the tour!

I was on a Cruise and was at the mercy of the the ships shuttle bus to Rome. Due to conditions out of my control the bus was running late and when I arrived 8 minutes late and presented my voucher the rep said to bad for you the tour has left and your out of 163.00. I asked if I could join the next Vatican tour with the fee I spent for the 10:30 tour and was told that was not possible.

  18. Heidi_C

Guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. It was very smooth getting in with the tour considering the crowd. It was super crowded(no one’s fault)

The Vatican is packed with way too many people for the size of group we had. Our tour guide was very good at getting us through the museum and then left us for the Sistine chapel and saint peters basilica. He constantly talked about how the Japanese and Japanese religion is better. Over all our guide did a decent job however there are just to many people allowed in at one time to visit again. You don’t really get to walk as much as shuffle your feet from place to place.

A great experience, our tour guide Pasquale was very engaging and knowledgeable. He talked us through the main artefacts in the museum and his English was great. The tour touched on Roman, Greek and Egyptian history, as well as the history of the Vatican City and the past Popes. We would definitely recommend!
