Absolutely horrific experience. We showed up on time, but the tour guide was not attentive to the group, and left without acknowledging us. We were then stopped at the entrance of the Vatican, and were told we could not enter and that we had the wrong tickets. We showed the security guard our confirmation email
from Viator and they still will not let us in. Due to the large group and distraction from everything, our tour guide would not verify that we are part of the group and continued to enter the Vatican leaving us behind. Horrific experience, they would not refund us, even though we did not attend the tour, and we were there on time, ready at the beginning of the tour do not do this tour.

I was amazed that they kept packing people in. Could not breath. Scary. Could not wait to get out but exits were blocked until you went through the gift shop.

A few hours prior to our tour we were notified there was an event at the Basilica so could not tour there but would see Raphael Room instead. Didn’t get to see Raphael Room. Not sure why or what happened. .

Didn’t even get to go on the tour. Was stopped by supposed Vatican security, told us we were with the “wrong group” after looking at our appropriate tickets, and sent us back to the meeting spot. Then random tour guides tried to “help” us and say we can just buy new tour times. It’s a scam to get more money out of you. Original tour guide did not help, Viator will not offer refund because it is after the 24hour window. Will be talking to credit card company. Unbelievable.

After getting email confirmation the day before tour and my credit card being charged, the tour “coordinator “ at the Vatican said we had no reservations. Refused to help us even tho we verified we did. After calling customer service, they did apologize and said they would refund money.

You definitely skip the line. However there are so many people, the tour guide moves quickly through the spaces and it is difficult to take on individual pieces. The guide did her best to explain what we were passing up so we could take it in. Overall, a great expert for our family!

Interesting tour, disappointed with Sistine Chapel (very beautiful) guide had said when we get in there to be silent as a holy place! As we got in there Staff were shouting for people to stay to the left spoilt the atmosphere not serene and tranquil. I thought staff disrespectful of their surroundings.
