Definitely recommend the skip-the-line portion of the tour! And we are self-guided people, so we loved that. We we didn’t love were the misleading meeting directions. We were giving a landmark and a street address. We went to the landmark (Arch) first and couldn’t find the personnel. Then we walked to the address 1/2 mile away which was a bus stop. It was getting close to our tour time (2pm) when I got a call on WhatsApp (never use it) and almost didn’t answer. It was the tour girl. Gave me directions to meet her. Arrived back to find her by the arch (hmmm?). It was 1:55 and our tour was at 2 but she said we had to wait 10 more minutes to go into Colosseum as we had missed our ticket time and we were not slotted for 2:30 (she said she had done us a favor). So look for someone with a flag by the arch. IGNORE the street address. There are millions of people there. It’s hard to find them. And split up the Colosseum and Palatine Hill/Forum into two days.

The self tour was great for a fast look inside the arena. Skipping the long line was even better.
However, the ticket redemption person was late to the ambiguous meeting area when we were told to be prompt. We were running all over looking for the aviator representative and we’re worried that we would miss our appointed time. Not a great experience in the hot hot weather. Horrible.

This self guided tour was perfect for me and my partner. It was the end of our trip and we wanted to visit the Colosseum on our own time. I would have given 5 stars, but we got a notice the day before for a time change and had to rearrange our schedule last minute.

The tour was “fine”. Basically we got tickets and we’re able to go inside. The tour actually did nothing other than buy all the tickets and essentially scalp them back to tourists. This group charged for 2 child tickets which were actually free. The Rome tourism system is broken allowing all of these tour companies to buy up slots and sell them back.

We got delayed at the Vatican and then the buses were as well so we arrived about 30 minutes late to the Colosseum. The 2 people who we were supposed to meet up with to pick up our tickets not only stayed for 30 extra minutes but also changed our ticket time so that we wouldn’t miss out. They were SO helpful and SO kind 💕

Overall a great experience. I had a 4pm entry booked and received a message from the tour operator the day prior informing us we could arrive at 1:45pm to pick up our tickets that way we had more time to enjoy the Palentine Hill and Roman Forum before our 4pm entry into the Colosseum, which they informed us we could enter 20 minutes prior to 20 minutes late, so it left us feeling not as rushed to get to the Collosseum from the Roman Forum. On arrival it was easy to find the pickup person and we picked up our tickets and went on our way. I’d highly recommend this over a guided tour as it lets you spend more time seeing what, you want, skipping what you don’t want, and enjoying it at your pace.

Good to get tickets to skip the line. Roman forum & hill was okay at best. Colloseum was gigantic and we had wonderful time spending there. We had tour at 2pm and the June sun was beating down on the Colloseum. Overall good experience.

Poor experience. Tour does not email tickets. You receive an email telling you to meet someone somewhere and they will present you with a formal, paper ticket. I couldn’t find the meeting point and did not receive a ticket. This is the 21st century. Tickets should be emailed. I regret this purchase.

We booked our tickets in advance and made sure we to the meeting point early. However, despite us having all the correct documentation and confirmation emails, they did not have our tickets printed due to an error with their system. They were unable to provide us with new tickets and did not help us find a solution to their error. All they could offer was a refund which would take three days to arrive back with us. We were unable to to visit the colosseum and ended up with a wasted afternoon because of this companies error – do not recommend!!
