The tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and able to move us ahead with patience and good manners. The experience was beyond words, worth the money spent thankyou

Our guide Eugene did a fantastic job showing us the highlights of the Vatican. It was very crowded so having a guide was absolutely essential. Booking the tour was easy and everything worked as advertised. Highly recommend

Sistine Chapel. Cartography room, basilica were the highlights.
Very crowded and our guide just keep talking and walking no time for photos.
    It was uncomfortable

Had a wonderful tour with Daniella. She was knowledgeable and personable. She took her time, answered any questions the group had . She went above and beyond, showing the group exits if necessary, rest rooms etc. if you are going to the Vatican museum, request her! Thank you Daniella!

  5. Suzanne_W

Tour operator very knowledgeable and answered everyone’s questions. A good pace with time to view everything and take pictures.

The What a Life Tours team is the way to go on this one.
Well organized and well informed team. Our guide navigated the locations like a pro and with apparently great reputation with the staff withing the Vatican City. The place was packed with people but it didn’t deter from our experience. You see a LOT during this and you definitely see the highlights; which was all we were looking for.
We were given a high quality (glossy cardstock) take away of the Sistine Chapel. Other tour groups had something similar, but more like printer paper copies. This along with our tour guide being so great is worth using this tour group again!

  7. KAREN_F

The whole tour is a memorable experience. The history and beauty of the Vatican, The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica was absolutely a photographer’s delight (where allowed). Our guide, Robert, was fabulous and a walking encyclopedia with his knowledge and history. Was definitely something our group said they would do again!

Our group of 4 had an awesome experience visiting the Vatican City with our guide. It was great being able to just walk into the different areas rather than waiting in lines.

It was very good tour, small group of 10, our guide was attentive, kind and very knowledgeable! Grazie!

Lovely company. First, they graciously allowed us to change our tour from morning to evening due to our plane being delayed. So glad we changed anyway! We were greeted with Prosecco at the office. Then we were treated to no crowds! It was so nice to see everything in the evening with the sun setting. Our guide was very good and explained a lot as well as gave us a handout keepsake of the Sistine Chapel. She explained it in great detail before we went in and then we could refer to the flyer as we were looking at the ceiling. It was strangely loud in the chapel (when I came 17 years ago it was extremely quiet). That’s the only part I did not like, but definitely nothing to do with the tour itself because the guide wasn’t allowed to discuss anything in the chapel itself. Highly recommend! PS the only thing we were not able to do for the evening tour was see inside Saint Peter’s Basilica.

Excellent tour! Daniele was the perfect guide, easy to understand, entertaining and informative. We enjoyed every minute. Skip the line is the only way to go!

This was a good tour that covered all of the sites as advertised. You should know that the Vatican had 40,000 visitors the day that we toured. Two-three years ago the Vatican caped the daily visitors at 25,000 according to our guide. Know that their are literally thousands of people taking this tour, still thousands more in the line to buy tickets. This site requires a significant amount of walking on marble and stone floors with many steps. You must buy tickets in advance like we did or you will regret it, for sure. We could have used a little less Vatican and a bit more St. Peter’s cathedral.

As others have probably said the Vatican is super crowded. If I were to go again I would get the first tour of the day or the keys to the kingdom tour.
Vatican is amazing. I have to say I didn’t enjoy this tour. I came with 8 people and there were about 6 others with us. We all agreed our tour guide was not too helpful. She spoke too fast and didn’t engage in conversation really. It was more like we were being talked at/ lecture than having a personable small group tour. I left disappointed in the experience. But the art work and history of the Vatican is wonderful to see.

Our tour guide through What a Life Tours was very informative and funny! This was one of our highlights in Rome. It was well worth the money to see the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica through a guided tour and was a bonus to skip the huge line outside!

  16. Teresa_R

Excellent tour. We were allowed into rooms that non tour visitors could not access.
Very informative guide. He pointed things out that we would never have noticed in our own. And we were given laminated cards to help us understand the frescos in the Sistine Chapel.

  17. Matthew_H

Our guide Mario was great. He was both funny and informative. We really enjoyed it, and would highly recommend.

Being awe struck by the scope and beauty and dedication took to build an design and fill with art had to be a testament t to the faith of the men involved and the questionable labor it took to pull off. All with rudimentary tools and supplies.

  19. Michael_P

Daniela, our tour guide, was terrific and very knowledgable and personable. She took great care of us and made us laugh.

  20. Thomas_T

Our tour guides name was John. He spoke for three hours nonstop. He gave a wonderful overview before we walked in to the Sistine chapel and then the Vatican. I cannot recommend him enough!
