I’ve always wanted to do a hot air balloon ride and this was the perfect opportunity to. The tour comes with shuttle service (picked up at my airbnb!) and breakfast (with a Mariachi band!). You share a hot air balloon with fellow travelers but we were lucky enough to be placed in a small, 6 person 1. It is really cold since the tour starts really early so make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. There is an optional Teotihuacan tour after (p.s. shuttle just drops you off and picks you up at 1pm). There is an option to purchase a tour at the site or you can walk around yourself for ~3 hours. Dress appropriately for the weather, it was hot the day we went and no shade except at the rest area. Shuttle service is provided back at your pick-up point. This tour started at 450am and ended around 2 for us. Overall, great experience. Highly recommend!

The hot air balloon ride was incredible, just wouldn’t take their transportation to the activity again. Was told to be ready for pickup at 4:50am, so we were outside our hotel at 4:45am. They didn’t show until 5:28am. And worst of all they lied to us, saying the van was waiting for us the whole time, when I asked everyone on the van if they were, they said no, all of them were waiting on the late van.

This was an incredible tour and worth the early wake up. The transportation was right on time in the morning and check-in at the balloon port was seamless. There was coffee and fruit while we waited to board and then a full breakfast buffet after the balloon ride. I opted for the on the ground tour after breakfast and we were transported to the pyramids and given the option for a guided tour that was an extra $580 MXN, entry included. For this price we were shown the notable places of interest (the grounds are expansive and a lot of walking to try to see everything on your own) by a knowledgeable guide, taken through a cave, and given a short tequila/pulque tasting tour, all with transportation included to each location. If you’re taking the time to make a trip to Teotihuacan, this is the way to do it!
