I made three tours with Solly.
    1. half day tour to Soweto and Apartheid Museum
    2. Tour in Pretoria
    3. Cradle of the Humankind and Sterkfountein Cave
I recommend Solly as your tour guide. He tries to explain you the things a good as possible and also cares that you are safe. He is also punctual and looks professional. So, if you want to have a reliable partner to guide you in to these places, I recommend him.

Solly was amazing…although the Apartheid Museum was closed he still filled the time with plenty of info and other sites to see around Johannesburg. All the info provided helped myself and the other group members learn about the history of not only Johannesburg but also the country of South Africa as well. Visiting Soweto and being educated on its past was great as well. I highly recommend the tour to anyone wanting an informative look at the city.

Although we couldn’t visit the apartheid museum which was closed due to Covid, solly (our guide) made the trip worthwhile. He gave us several options to choose from to make up for the museum and we decided on Constitutional Hill and Soweto. He told us many interesting things during the trip and at the sights and was very compliant to our wishes. We totally recommend this guided tour and enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you very much Solly.

Solly was a great guide! Was very happy with the tour and content. Would recommend this.
Note: due to COVID, apartheid museum was closed but we visited constitution hill instead. I believe the museum will open again in a few weeks though

Our tour guide was the best. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from him. We enjoyed seeing the Mandela home and the Apartheid museum.

The most memorable part was how informative and friendly our guide was. Emmah was amazing!!! I was recommend using her every time.

Had an awesome tour. The guide was very informative. Solly made sure everything would be organised and was available for us at any moment. We would recommend this insightful tour. Bare in mind that some of the sights and stories are harsh and disturbing.

Tour felt quite rushed. You probably need a full day to do the apartheid museum and Soweto. Our tour ran quite late and folks ended up quite rushed to get back to hotels and catch flights.
The tour of Soweto is mostly a driving tour so you don’t really get to see or experience the city. It would be nice if there could be a bit more of a walking component between the significant sites. We stopped for lunch, some locals made it quite uncomfortable for us – the guide had no idea what was going on, the group was a bit big for him to be keeping an eye on everyone.

Seeing places we had only heard or read about.
Wonderful to meet people from all over the world & share ideas & impressions.

We had a free day in Johannesburg and booked this tour the same day. Our guide Clement did a great job and the tour covered everything that was advertised and more. Hotel pick up and comfortable air conditioned van were a big plus. Although the Apartheid Museum was closed that day, the tour more than made up for it with other sights and they told us in advance. We definitely felt we got our money’s worth.

The jail and courtroom were very interesting.
Hector peterson area was also one of the highlights
Driving through the cbd was an eye opener

  13. Michele_M

Clement the tour guide was amazing and provided so much information during the tour. I think we enjoyed it so much because he was from the area and gre up during apartheid

This tour was the perfect way to learn about apartheid and the history of Nelson Mandela. Our guide Nathi was prompt, personable and informative. He really knows how to connect with his guests and was happy to share information and answer our questions. This was our first visit to South Africa and we’re so happy we chose this tour.

Mandelas house was interesting as well as the apartheid museum. Our guide was very nice too and helpful.

I upgraded to full day tour as other 5 were doing that and it was really worth it to see the whole day. Excellent. Made so by Nathi our guide who was full of knowledge and history and had the best sense of humour who introduced each of us to each other and made us all feel very welcome and included. Importantly felt 100% safe. Best day. Great way to get a feel for Johannesburg and Africas changing political scene. Made awesome by Nathi. Shared many jokes and laughed all day. Roy
