Good value for money and good guide. We had a good overview of Soweto and Aparthaid museum. The lunch was also good.

Excellent tour! Thabang is an awesome tour guide. Had lots of interesting information to share and did a great job of engaging everyone in our “family” (tour group). Enjoyed both the Hector Pieterson and Apartheid Museums. Plenty of time to visit both. The visit to Soweto was eye-opening and it was good to know that a portion of our tour cost goes to helping those in the poorer sections of Soweto. Lunch was tasty. All in all a well-planned tour that was very enjoyable! Highly recommend!

This was a great tour and very educational. We experienced some emotional moments, as we had the opportunity to see the apartheid museum and walking in the townships. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and took his time to explain different things.

A tour that should be a must for us tourist coning from countries without real historical racial problems & large differences in economic status.
I got a better picture of the troubled past and some of the problems the country still faces.

  6. Paula_W

Our guide was super knowledgeable and covered a lot of South African history which gave us a great insight into the current time. Very thought provoking. Would heartily recommend.

This trip was the highlight of my trip to Johannesburg. It was very well organised and the tour guide, Khutso, together with an intern, Bangani, provided an excellent service, driving me safely from place to place, talking me through the history and context of each stop as well as areas we passed as we drove, and answering any questions. I learned so much from them.

Our guide, Happy, was a wonderful guide and the tour is really interesting. We didn’t have enough time to visit the Apartheid museum completely but it was sufficient to have an idea.
    I strongly recommend it

This was the first trip we took after arriving in Johannesburg and we would 100% recommend it to travellers who want to learn more about the area’s history. Tsholo was our guide – the pick-up was exactly on time and he was fun, engaging and knowledgeable, answering any and all questions and making sure we are all doing well. We had lunch right next to Mandela’s house and definitely learned a lot about South Africa’s history, and Soweto’s role in it.

Worth day tour in Johannesburg. Our guide tour were punctual pick up. The group were small and our guide made the tour fun and enjoyable despite the rainy day.

The complexity of South African life was on full display. Success over a dark history. The tour was definitely educational and worth the money! Our guide was amazing. The children od Soweto was simply beautiful. My heart was full after this tour!

  12. Jarrell_H

Our tour guide was amazing. Told lots of stories and history of Soweto and South Africa. Also a local and a nice guy. He also gave us options to adjust the tour to see different lifestyles in Soweto. Very knowledgeable and fun tour guide. I would definitely recommend this tour company.

A great way to expand your knowledge of the history of Johannesburg and the struggle to overcome apartheid

  14. Andreas_L

Great tour to get to know Soweto and the history behind this town! Our guide Khutso was great!! Very insightful and great company! The Apartheid Museum was humbling. The temporary settlement was even more humbling. Loved it!!

  15. Claudie_B

The tour guide was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. This Full-Day trip is much better than the 1/2 day. You will learn so much about the history of Johannesburg. The Apartheid Museum is a must see 2 hour self guided tour. A delightful lunch was provided from the area’s restaurant best homecooked meal. You will have lots of fun.

  16. CATHLEEN_D

This tour is without competition in the type of tour currently offered. It fit my interests. The tour guide was pleasant. There were 6 persons on this tour, having different interests. Tour became off schedule and ran late. I do not recommend this tour for persons who are not flexible.

What an informative and impactful day this was! FABULOUS! Walking through the streets of Soweto, visiting a nursery school, and meeting the people was an experience I will never forget. The Aparteid Museum was extraordinary. Mark warmly ushered us through the day and shared with us much about South African history, as well as the current situation there. Highly recommend!,

  18. Paul_P

It was an eye opening experience. We had a great time. We saw the good and the bad areas and portraits of history.

  19. Zahra_A

The activities and the lunch where both good but I did feel like the guide tried to short change me from the start by saying I’d booked a half-day tour instead of a full day tour

  20. Diana_L

This was a great tour from start to finish. Picked up on time by a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Our experience in Soweto was eye opening for me.The children were inspiring. The lunch of authentic South African food was great to try. Finished off with some time at the Apartheid Museum. Could have spent a lot longer at the museum as it was very interesting.
    A very memorable experience.
    Thank you MoAfrica
