Was very informative. Guide was hilarious and very engaging. I can still remember the way she told the story. very memorable. Highly recommended.

This tour was massively overpriced. If you queue at the gate you will pay RM17 so less than half the price of this trip. The building itself is beautiful but with the 100 people being shown round at the same time, it ends up being a boring experience with little ability to hear the guide nor see what they are talking about. Overall a massive waste of time and money.

Beautifully and authentically restored.. Our guide Sally was both entertaining and educational. Worthwhile for anyone with interests in historical and architectural details

This is the second time that I have taken this tour. More of the mansion was open to the public the last time I was here and the tour was longer. The current tour is still interesting and informative even if there is less to see.

The history of the family and how the house was restored.
It made us value the parts of the home more. 😉
Alan_E –
So much great Chinese history and acknowledgment of Asian influence in the community.
Learned more about Feng shui and how it was implemented in the building’s construction.

Blue Mansion is an excellent place to understand the multi-cultural aspects of this area. BUT the tour guide, Cumelle, spoke in such heavily accented English we understood about 50% of what she said. We are Americans and it seemed like the local tourists could follow her. The experience was awful and a waste of our money. Her speech was filled with so many non-fluencies (filler) words we got lost. Unless we stood right in front of her and had context of what she was talking about, it was hopeless. With 40+ people on the tour in small rooms, being close was very difficult.
We tried to switch to a different tour, but none was available for our time in Penang.

The guide was informative and humorous. It was just the right length of time for a tour. One could also have a drink or meal afterwards in the hotel/vicinity. There was good washroom facilities.
Peter_L –
As it was a Friday the tour was conducted by one of the owners Loh Lin Lee.
She gave a full account of how they bought the mansion and the history of the mansion from it’s original construction to their purchase and subsequent renovation processes.

Prachtig gerestaureerde huis, geschiedenis komt tot leven dmv een gids die ontzettend veel had te vertellen
Noriko_S –
A beautiful place. Guide was very competent. However, your tour conditions require minimum two persons for the booking. I am on business trip and travel alone. There was no other way but to pay for two people. Yet there were more than 30 participants in a group for the visit starting at 11am. Please do consider to improve your system.
Lisa_W –
Tour so overbooked it was almost impossible to see or hear anything because of the crowd (which was a real shame as guide was really good). A lot of the group broke away and explored on their own and left early as impossible to enjoy the tour.
Rosli_M –
Very nice experience to be in such a beautiful and historic mansion.
