Evan Evans tours cancelled claiming that they didn’t have enough customers. They did not notify us until 12:45 when we checked in for the tour. I find it unacceptable that I had to cancel 24 hours in advance yet they can waste my day and cancel at the show time for the tour. Terrible business. Another family had another tour already cancelled by Evan Evans in addition to this tour. Rubbish business.

We enjoyed seeing the castle but were surprised how the area immediately surrounding the castle was so commercialized. Especially since this was a favorite residence of the Queen. Our guide was very knowledgeable and included a Magna Carta bonus.

The tour has been canceled without any notice and we are still waiting for refund. We decided to visit the castle by ourselves, the decision was good and we had a pleasant afternoon. We hope that in the future there will be more communication and assistance from the tour operator.

This was more an escorted trip rather than a guided tour as guiding is not allowed in the castle and audio guides are available. I would recommend just taking the train from London on your own as the experience would be very similar and less expensive.

We were with a group of 41 people and many were older and didn’t speak any English. The time to load the bus, travel to Windsor Castle, get through security was about 2 hours. (Really cutting into our time to explore) The guide tried her best to keep everyone moving, but it was just a slow group that needed extra attention. We felt rushed to zip through the Chapel and State Apartments without slowing down to really take it in and then we were free to wander for about an hour. We feel our family should’ve taken the train and sone the tour on our own due to these circumstances.

This tour was fantastic!! We came for the Coronation, but the tour of Windsor Castle was awesome. Our guide was interesting and very informative. We loved the headsets that you could wear inside the castle, because in each room you could learn all sorts of fascinating facts about who would have used each room, for what purpose and all the design features that were incorporated into the building. We used Viator for the Tour of Highclere Castle (where Downton Abbey was filmed) and really loved that tour also.

There is no tour person who walks you through Windsor Castle and the chapel. The “tour director” said she can’t give a tour in the chapel even though we saw other tour directors doing so. Our tour director was worthless. Take a train to the castle. Our tour director only talked about the royal family for the entire time in the bus to and from the bus station. We were craving ear plugs.

The bus was full. Disappointed in the cleanliness of the bus. When the tray was opened, a moldy sandwich had been left there. There was no other sear available. This sandwich spewed mold in the air and affected the air quality. Very surprised post covid that the interior of the bus was dirty.

I am 75 years old and my friend is 70 years old. Unfortunately, during our tour, our tour guide lost a number of clients most of which were elderly. Before entering the chapel we lost the guide and she had no interest in keeping the group together. We had to follow other visitors and by chance spotted her afterwards. We complained to her but she did not respond and offer an apology. We know that a lot of other clients were also unhappy. Therefore we had to visit the Windsor Castle on our own.
