Good service. Finished Cruise and booked Port to Rome transfer. Driver was waiting with sign on time, loaded our luggage an took us directly to hotel. Real was a real nice man. Definitely easier than taking bus or train onto Rome from the Port of Civitechia.

At this time of year Rome is too crowded to enjoy. Our guide tried to make it safe and easy for us but I only got out of the car at the Trevi fountain and the view from above the city. The car was very comfortable and the guide did his best.

I called the day before April 28 to confirm pickup at Civitivecchio port Italy for private transfer to Excelesior Hotel Rome and was told it was for 6AM which I said I had edited and had voucher in front of me stating 2 persons pick up at 9am It was a total scam I paid for the voucher on Feb 16 2024 After many back and forth Romaetours guy said they would not pick us up as I was within the 24 hr cancellation time..I was not trying to cancel just confirm 9am pick up So my 82 year old husband and myself were stranded. Your driver failed to appear on time. Due to time constraints, we had to hire another driver at additional expense. We tried to contact Viator for a refund however no one has responded to us. We want a refund. Please respond before we contact Trip Advisor and Yelp.

Disembarkation time was scheduled at 8:00 a.m. I got out of security and getting luggage at 8:25 a.m. The driver was gone! The operator tried to text me night before asking if he could pick me up at 7:30 – 7:45. I didn’t respond as I didn’t have my phone on while on the ship. Clearly he was tight on time and that was why he didn’t properly wait. Operator said he waited from 7:45 – 8:25. I asked him at 8:30 after speaking directly to the driver to have him return if he was 5 minutes away. “Don’t come back!” was his response. Terrible operator. Unprofessional. I was stranded at Pier for 3 hours. No taxis available and 3,000 people waiting for shuttles and cars. No refund. Viator wouldn’t do anything! My first bad experience with Viator. $227 for a private transport AND I had to pay 200 euros for a taxi to Rome. I learned my lesson. Book through the cruise ship next time.
