My tour guide was Sonia. She was fabulous, as she provided information about the Sicilian culture, vegetation and wildlife of Mt. Etna. I enjoyed hiking the trails around craters and the base of Mt. Etna while we discussed animals, flowers and volcanic ash/soil. I also experienced caves created by lava flows. Following the Mt. Etna Tour I was taken to a wine tasting of five wines, accompanied by delicious local food. Plus, travel to and from hotel is included from Catania. It was a great day!

Great tour! Weather for us was a little rough but it was in January and we were caught in a snow storm on MT. Etna. Despite the weather it was still amazing walking around a crater and walking inside a cave. The wine tasting was excellent as well! Our tour guide was very informative and always making sure we were safe.

Francesca our tour guide was brilliant very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed every minute of the tour and recommend taking the cable car up Mount Etna, the views were amazing!

It was a very interesting and amazing sight to see Mt Etna. The tour was well run and informative. Enjoyed the day and would recommend it.

Lovely day but I was expecting better with the wine tasting, it was more of a quick taste and nibbles then a sales pitch, worst of all we were bombarded by a cruise trip which overtook our table eating our food,
If I had the chance to do this again I would skip the wine tasting

Our guide Nando was very talkative, friendly and shared a lot of interesting infos about Mount Etna. He picked us up and dropped at our hotel. We had an amazing day, highly recommended tour!

Whilst my Girlfriend and I were not able to get to the top of Etna because the weather, our guide ensured we had a lot to do given the inclement weather. We explored the caves and their formations, we sampled some of the produce of Etna and we finally topped it off with wines and snack bits and at the vineyard, followed by a tour of the vineyard to understand their processes. A really day out even if we couldn’t get to the top of Etna! :-

What a great day we had with Natalie our guide. She was super knowledgeable and so friendly. Firstly we visited a lava cave which was super interesting. The trip to Etna was jaw dropping. We would highly recommend taking the cable car and 4wd bus to the top unless you are injured as even though its expensive its absolutely worth it. The views and experience are unparalleled. Its a good idea to take a light jacket and comfy walking shoes as its uneven terrain and even if its a warm day it can be cold at the top. After Etna we enjoyed seeing 2 wineries. The first we had wine and olive oil and dries fruit and honey tasting with the opportunity to buy. The second we had a lovely anti pasta platter huge and catered for gluten free and an abundance of wines to try. Such a great day, we would definitely do it again. Cant recommend Natalie enough for her patience, humour and enthusiasm.

Our guide was Nando and he was fantastic. I went on this tour with a friend and we had the best time. There was another couple that was also part of the tour that joined along. My friend and I were staying in Catania for 3 days and wanted to explore outside of the city without renting a car. The van picked us up at our Airbnb and we took a scenic ride to Etna while Nando provided the history. Nando was personable, funny and spoke English well. When we got out of the van our jaws dropped at the beauty of the landscape. It was a foggy on the mountain (we’re in the clouds) without a view, but it just added to the ambiance of the black, moon-like atmosphere. We chose not to take the tram up and we still had a great tour walking around one of the craters. After that we visited a lava cave, which was deep and cool to see. We left Etna and went to a shop where they sell honey and olive oil with tastes for every item. And finally we went to a winery and were escorted to a table with a fantastic view and enjoyed tasting three wines while eating some snacks and got to relax. We then got a tour of the winery and headed back to the city with ample time to enjoy the late afternoon there. Highly recommend this tour.

Our private guide Francesco (hubbie and I were only guests for this tour) picked us up at our hotel right on time. He shared lots of interesting info en route to the base station of Mount Etna. I had no idea that there were completely different kinds of volcanoes. We elected to take the gondola to 7,500 feet and then the 4-wheel drive to the 10,000 foot elevation. Our alpine guide and volcanologist then led our party up to and around the rim of this crater – hubbie and I are both almost 70 yrs old, and not particularly fit but are proud to say that we kept up and enjoyed the entire experience. After descending, Francesco drove us to the winery Oro d’Etna – we were treated like royalty! I was a little concerned that we would be expected to buy cases of wine – not the case at all. We could not have been more warmly welcomed by Noemi and the owner of this enterprise. Of course, a variety of delicious wines were offered for tasting along with plates of nibbles that complemented each wine. We were also invited to sample the wonderful honey that they produce from their 900 bee hives. Several other products were also on offer. And we never felt any pressure to purchase – although, predictably, we did! You are guaranteed to enjoy a wonderful day if you take advantage of this tour. Lou from Canada.

Enzo was very knowledgeable and had a good energy level for telling the story of Mt Etna. We had an awesome time at the wine tasting as well.

Heading to the top of Mount Etna was breathtaking. Otherworldly landscape, clumps of snow…
Our guide Simone was extremely knowledgeable and funny
Our wine tasting was full of yummy local appetizers and four delicious local wines – all had very strong flavours.
    Would do it again!

Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
We spent the extra $$ to ride the quads once we arrived at Mt Etna. It is worth it to be outside and ride through the woods and lava flows. Jackets and gloves were included in our quad adventure. Afterward, we went to the winery and sampled various wines from the slopes of Mount Etna and Sicilian foods. So delicious and a lovely and unique setting. This is not to be missed!

We would split the trip to 2 parts: first – Mt. Etna “hike” – the description of the trip is not specific. After we read it, we thought that the price included a hike to the top (at least to more than 5 meters above the restaurants and parking lot). We basically walked for 30 minutes around one crater and that was it. But there was an option to pay a cable way (ticket for 30 €) to get you at least to the 2500 m.a.s.l. Also, the description says tracking shoes included – it was not included and if you wanted them, you had to pay 8 € (the same for the jacket). We were hanging around 2.5-3 hours in the restaurant/bar waiting for basically nothing. But I must add, that the weather was rather bad – foggy, cloudy. But when we saw pictures of those, who took the cable way, the inversion was amazing and it was sunny. Second part: the wine tasting experience – this was on the other hand amazing. Stuff was very friendly, took us for a tour around their winery, they served us with 4 samples of great wine and so so so many food variations (cheese, salami, ham, pistachio dezert, vegetable balls, special lasagne etc.). It was really amazing and we enjoyed this part to our max. But visiting the top of Mt Etna should have been the highlight of the trip. Maybe we had a bad luck with our guide.

This is a wonderful experience! We were picked up near our hotel and Carmelo did a fabulous job of guiding us through the day. Not only did he explain what we were seeing but also provided personal insight into the culture of Sicily. The trip to Mt. Etna via cable car was a highlight – only to be followed by an incredible food and wine tasting experience. Everything was perfect! Highly recommended!!
