organisme Discover Messina a ne PAS recommander ! Arrivés à l’etna après 1h30 de mini bus , nous étions un petit groupe de français et un petit groupe anglophone…La guide très gentille certes mais discours absolument sans intérêt dans le bus ! pas d’explications sur l’etna son type de volcanisme son historique ….bref ce qui rend les choses intéressantes !!! Les gens qui ont pris l’excursion avec le bateau de croisière CDF ont eu un guide ultra intéressant qui leur a tout expliqué dans le bus, ils se sont arrêtés en cours de route pour le panorama , ont vu un film sur les volcans dans le bus , le guide s’est déplacé avec eux sur le volcan pour leur expliquer ! c’est ce que j’attendais de notre guide surtout en prenant un truc privé en plus petit comité ! au lieu de cela elle nous a laissé 1h sur place sans nous accompagner ! Le pire à Taormine ….La guide nous emmene dans un resto qu’elle nous conseille ultra loin du théatre hors nous avions seulement 1h30 pour manger et visiter ! Notre pizza nous a été servie plus d’une 1/2h après ! moralité nous sommes partis avec les pizzas sans les avoir mangé en courant pour arriver au site à visiter !….Là il nous restait 10 mn pour visiter le théatre de Taormine ! Entrée payante non comprise dans le prix de l’excursion !!! Moralité j’ai payé 10 euros pour 10 mn de visite à cent à l’heure pour prendre des photos pour les autres qui sont rentrés au bus pour ne pas être en retard !!!
L’excursion m’a couté 100 euros pour moi et ma fille 10 euros d’entrée pour seulement un taxi bus et une guide qui ne nous a servi à RIEN !!!! je suis très en colère car je ne retournerais probablement pas là bas et je pensais en passant par Viator plutôt que par le bateau avoir une excursion de qualité !!!….Et ce fut l’inverse au contraire dePompéi vésuve qui a été inoubliable ! comme quoi le guide et l’organisation fait la différence !

We didn’t get to go to Mt. Etna because of an eruption that morning. Instead, our guide, Chiarra, took us to the town, Savoca, where the wedding scene from the Godfather was filmed. She slowed down at the tour members request because it was uphill and hard for us older folks. She did talk in Italian a lot more than English. There were only two Italians on the bus with 15 English speakers. One couple from New York called her on it and she correct herself. But she was interrupted several times in Italian and that was confusing for us English speakers. Chiarra did very good with us at the end though and gave us extra time in the town itself. Taormina was beautiful and we had a great lunch there.

Worse tour I took during my 11 day cruise. Chiada barely spoke the entire time. When she did speak it was very hard to understand. The bus driver got lost and it took us over 3 hours to get to Mt Etna. It was basically a bus service. The other family on the tour said it was horrible as well.

Too little time at Mt Etna. Could not take cable car to top. TOO MUCH time for shopping in Messina. Time would be better spent at MT. Etna. Mt. Etna was reason for this tour not shopping

The visit to Mt. Etna was very memorable. The views were fantastic and it was spectacular to walk through the craters. Taormina was also beautiful and the fresh cannoli we bought in a bakery was delicious! Our local guide Margarita was very knowledgable, friendly and accommodating!

SARA! Thank you for a beautiful time on Mt. ETNA! It wasn’t our first or fifth time on the volcano but I can say I saw it differently with all the information Sara (our wonderful guide) gave us before, during and after the tour. It’s not really a tour but an experience. I was having some depth perception issues and she accommodated me so well that I had no problem continuing and completing the tour, plus had some free time to explore on my own! We also had a mini tour and free time in Taormina. Again not my first time, won’t be my last time either. It is a lovely town with amazing views and treasures to eat! To finish we had a ride around the port city of Messina for a panoramic stop.

Very nice tour! Guide was very knowledgeable and courteous. Plenty of time to spend in both locations. Cheaper than the cruise ship tour which visited the same spots.
