Absolutely awful – our small tour was actually 30 people and being given in both English and Spanish likely due to a shortage of guides. We actually left the tour after 10 minutes as it was not what we expected. Very disappointed.

The detail per “What to Expect” lead me to believe that we would “pass by” (infers close proximity) the Tempo Votivo di Cristo and the Santuario della Madonna di Montalto. In fact, the picture with the tour summary was most likely taken at the Cristo overlooking the city (and it appears to me that our guide is the one kneeling in the picture). Instead, we viewed them from afar… looking up the hillside. When I inquired of the guide about would we be going by the Cristo, I was informed that it would take too much time to go up the hill! Up to that point, we had seen two points not on the list of expected sites and had excruciating details/inordinate amount of time spent at Fountain of Neptune and at the Messina Municipal building. This is the point that I had enough and broke-off from the group to see the places on my own. Quite frankly, the view of the Cristo and Montalto was better from the deck of the Cruise ship! Very disappointing. Plus, this was to be an English speaking tour, but everything was repeated in another language… adding to the required time at each stop and causing confusion. Additionally, since we were lead to believe that we would be going inside churches on the tour, I dressed accordingly with slacks; As it turned-out, that too was not true and I suffered greatly from the high heat and humidity that day!!! I feel that this tour was not as it was purported to be and would greatly appreciate a full refund. By the way, another couple broke-off from the group before I did.

The guide was difficult to understand and it was made worse by terrible audio on the headsets. The tour company needs to invest in better equipment asap. The sites visited were pretty average as well. I would not recommend this tour.

The most difficulty we had was being in the correct place to meet our guide as there were bus guides wearing the same orange scarves. They and port security were very helpful! Our guide gave us the choice of walking along the lower part of the city or the upper portion. We chose the upper and were rewarded with a fabulous view of the harbor entrance, our ships, the opposite shore and a history of the church itself.There are a LOT of steps to navigate taking the same route both ways, so be prepared for that.
She timed it all so we could see the church clock tower display at noon as well as a tour of the interior of church itself.
She explained everything in both English and Spanish.
We didn’t stay for the sweets as we needed to return to our ship. Our tour lasted about 3 hours.

Horrible communication. We were emailed a few days ahead that the time had changed-
‘We inform you that due to organizational issues we are forced to change the pickup time from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.’
We told them that time would not work for us and that we wanted cancel, but got no confirmation of the message.
Things changed on the ship, so we show up at the the new time, and now they have no reservation for us, even though we never got confirmation of the cancel.
After a 15 minute discussion, we are able to get on the tour.. but the tour guide’s English was so heavily accented that we and several others could not understand her and leave the tour before it was complete…
