Our guide was at the pier when we arrived. He was very friendly and courteous. His English was not as fluent as we had hoped so communicating was somewhat strained. Taormina was spectacular and not to be missed.

Our guide met us at the pier and took us on an amazing tour of Messina and Taormina! Our guide was well versed and very comfortable with his knowledge of Sicily! He showed us the beauty of Taormina and we had amazing views of Mt Etna! We had a private tour for just the four of us and we loved every minute! At the end of the tour he dropped us off, at our request, at the best cannoli bakery on Sicily! Fortunately, it was just across the road from the port!! We marched onboard with four of the most delicious, fresh cannoli’s ever!!

First off, the meeting point was incredibly difficult to find. They said it was an intersection, but it’s not two roads, it’s a road and an alley. We walked all over the place trying to find this point, we asked locals and port officials for help and they couldn’t make sense of the directions we were given either. The only way to contact the guide was by email so it was very slow getting a response and whomever was responding to me was pretty rude and shaming about us not being able to find the group instead of helping us locate them. Finally we did meet up and our guide was very kind about our tardiness. Our guide, Salvatore, was very informative and friendly. Taormina was gorgeous and we had lots of free time.
