This was one of the most wonderful part of course we had on our cruise. Taormino is simply a beautiful place to visit. The panoramic view along with its city is breathtaking. I recommend people spend as much time as they can there. Our guide/driver was Michelle.(Michael). It is wonderful to see and be guided by someone who has such a wonderful understanding and enthusiasm for their country. During our ride to Taormino he gave us a wonderful review of Messina and Taramina. He also made some excellent recommendations for lunch as well as finding the best cannoli and gelato in Messina . Which was right around the corner from the Port of Messima. Spectacular place to visit.

Unfortunately the weather was overcast and when we got to Castelmola there wasn’t too much we could see. However we loved Tourmina, especially the theatre that dates back to 300BC.

Our tour guide Alina was good. Gave us lots of great information of Messina. The drive to both towns were thrilling (once we got close to Castelmora). The driver was fantastic! If I could change anything I’d skip castelmola to spend more time in Taormina. Most of the shops were closed when we arrived. Spent 1 hr there. We had 2 hours in Taormina. Not enough time to explore the town, & grab lunch. We did a quick run into the amphitheater just to get a quick look. All went smoothly. Nice group.

What a beautful area!! Miriam was our tour guide and Mr. Gino our driver and they were amazing!! Miriam was a wealth of knowledge and able to answer all of our questions. We learned so much about the area, the culture, food etc. Mr. Gino was an excellent driver and we felt very safe. They were very patient with us when we shopped to long and made sure we got back to the boat in plenty of time. I would highly recommend this tour and especially our tour guides.

We loved Taormina! The walking streets with gorgeous shops filled with colorful pottery and jewelry where fascinating! I could have spent a whole day there! We loved the peaceful gardens and the views of the ocean down below. Wish we could have had more time there! The bus ride up there was incredible with the winding roads and the sharp curves. Our bus driver did an amazing job and handled it like a true professional. Our guide was very good. I can’t remember his name right now but he answered all of our questions and gave us very helpful information. Our second stop was Castemola. I would have chosen to stay in the first area longer and skipped this all together. Too many steps and not much to see. We did enjoy a drink on the balcony of the infamous penis bar so make sure to go check that out.

The stops we made at the hilltop towns with breathtaking views were charming and memorable. It was nice to have some free time on our own to roam around, shop, and get a bite of local food. Our guide did a great job, being helpful and informative. The small bus we rode in was very comfortable and nice. We had a little trouble figuring out our exact meeting place, though, for starting the tour.
