The trip was very lovely, perfect for a laid back visit of Etna. Don’t expect to hike much though, as it’s mainly a driving through kind of tour. Nonetheless, the cave walk and the little trek up the side of Etna was a nice experience. The guide was very friendly.

Small English speaking group, good guide. Minibus to Etna ‘base camp‘ bus station area via view points and larva tube. Coffee, then a shortish walk to an old crater, followed by lunch (not included) call. At the mercy of the weather of course. On our trip in early April there were snow flurries on the mountain and it changed quickly from warm sun to bitter wind. Only difficulty was my old ears hearing the commentary from the back of the van.

Everything was an amazing experience: The Ox Valley, the entrance to the tube, and the visit to the craters.. However, I would like to congratulate the tour guide for his wide knowledge, his kindness, his sense of humor, and more. And also Vittorio, the driver, who was very kind to help my sister whenever she was unable to join us for some parts of the tour. Thanks to both of them. We really appreciate their role in this tour.

We loved drinking some etna wine, while standing on the etna. Looking in to and walking around the crater and the tour through the lava cave. Our guide (Leonardo) showed lots of pictures and films. He shot them himself. This was amazing!

it’s hard to accurately rate the experience since the tour took place in a downpour. I was actually suprised the tour still took place. when we were out exploring the crater quickly the ice hail was coming at us sideways. Due to the whether we couldn’t see anything beyonf where we were standing. Our tour guide was very sweet and did what she could with our group though. I imagine in better weather it would be a perfect excursion. She did decide to erupt while we were on our tour and our guide made us feel very comfortable that we were safe.

A little disappointing and wouldn’t recommend for anyone mildly adventurous or in shape as this will be below your potential. Unfortunately our guide’s English comprehension was poor and our tour group felt we couldn’t even ask questions bc he didn’t understand them. The “hike” is very mild and all in areas open to the public, I guess I was under the impression that the tour would add something to the experience but we would likely have gotten more out of a free day to explore the volcano on our own. The lava cave is cool but lasts about 5 minutes.

We had such a good time on this trip! Our guide was super entertaining, and really engage the group on the drive up the mountain. The hike was fun, moderately, challenging, and a memorable experience. A totally worthwhile and very special dinner day trip during our Sicily vacation.

This was an amazing trip, I would recommend to anyone! It’s not too hard core but enough to make you feel like you’ve achieved something. Our guide had an amazing knowledge of volcanoes and geology. I was picked up right outside my hotel which was a massive bonus. Overall, just book it. What are you waiting for?

It was a wonderful day and I enjoyed the trip. However, I signed up for an English guide and as much as our guide was helpful and knowledgeable, it was almost impossible to understand him. He also did not really understand us. It was unfortunate because I think we could have all learned more. We were five women and we all had the same problem. But he was more than kind and allowed everyone their space. I personally liked him – just would have liked to understand him better.

Guide was knowledgeable but he embarrassed my adult daughter in front of everyone on several occasions by making a spectacle off her for no reason— I did confront him on this— he apologized— but to make an adult cry because you are showing off is unacceptable
I hope he learned his lesson and never makes anyone feel less than again
