Spectacular to see the ancient history sites with stunning views from the top and all around. Well worth the visit. My elderly mother couldn’t make the climb as we were pushing her around in a portable wheelchair but she still managed to see the sights from the lower ground areas and we all enjoyed the bus rides with the travel information through the earphones.

It is nice to have tickets ready, the audio tour was not as user friendly as we would like to, but if you know a little bit of history you can navigate the sites and know what your are seeing thanks to the signs they have on all mayor parts of the area.

We booked the combo ticket in advance of our trip to make sure we had entry and didn’t have to queue at any of the attraction sights. While the tickets worked great and we had no issues, I don’t think booking is really necessary in the winter season as we found that all of the sights were very quick and easy to get in with no queuing at all, and that prices for entry were discounted a lot from 1st November onwards so you’d be okay to purchase tickets when you’re there and the price would work out around the same anyway. You might also find that some of the sights you don’t actually need to go into, such as the Temple of Zeus, as you can see quite a lot from behind the gates for some of the smaller sites. If you do book the combo ticket however, it’s really easy to use – you’ll get your ticket sent with instructions just before your trip and you simply scan the same barcode once at each of the locations. Just make sure you download the ticket before you leave and it’s super easy!
