Welcome to Portugal. We have made this itinary for a 2 week trip around Portugal as a guide for you to get the most out of your travels. Portugal is a small country with a big heart, full of rich history, stunning landscapes, delicious food, and warm people. Here are some of my best recommendations for your trip:

Day 1-3: Lisbon
Start your trip in the capital city of Lisbon, where you can explore the charming neighborhoods, historic monuments, and delicious food scene. Don’t miss visiting the iconic Belem Tower, the breathtaking Jeronimos Monastery, and the lively Bairro Alto neighborhood. Take a tram ride through the winding streets of Alfama and enjoy some authentic Portuguese cuisine in one of the many traditional restaurants.

Day 4-6: Sintra and Cascais
Take a day trip from Lisbon to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning palaces, mansions, and castles. Don’t miss the colorful Pena Palace and the exotic gardens of Quinta da Regaleira. Afterwards, head to the seaside town of Cascais for some fresh seafood, sandy beaches, and a picturesque harbor.

Day 7-9: Porto
Travel up north to the city of Porto, known for its wine and port cellars, historic center, and picturesque riverfront. Take a boat tour on the Douro River, visit the iconic Lello Bookstore, and don’t forget to try some of the local cuisine, such as the Francesinha sandwich and the famous pastel de nata.

Day 10-12: Douro Valley
The Douro Valley is a must-visit for wine lovers and nature enthusiasts. Take a scenic train ride along the Douro River and enjoy the stunning landscapes of vineyards and valleys. Visit some of the wine estates, take a tasting tour, and savor some of the best wines in the world.

Day 13-14: Algarve
Finish your trip with a visit to the sunny and sandy Algarve region, located in the south of Portugal. Enjoy the warm weather, crystal-clear waters, and breathtaking beaches. Visit the town of Lagos, the stunning Ponta da Piedade cliffs, and take a boat tour to explore the grottos and hidden coves.
