Our tour guide James was amazing! So animated and funny and clearly passionate about the tour and company. It’s a bit more focused on being kinda spooky Vs. the history of the tunnels, the latter of which would have been my preference, hence my 4 star rating. But if you’re into that, you’ll like this!

Pretty good price for what you get. It is a somewhat walk to the entrance of the vaults, however the tour guide was really good with stopping at certain things and giving a talk about that, which felt like an added bonus if you hadn’t done any other city tours prior. Very informative and eerie inside the vaults. Quite dark and damp and smelly which adds to the authenticity of it all. The tour guide gave lots a great information.
Julian_V –
Great guide with a great deal of knowledge, close to the Royal Mile and restaurants and bars. As it gets dark in the vaults just use your phone’s torch or bring one along.
john_l –
Our tour guide was amazing – very engaging and knowledgeable! Truly enjoyed! Very interesting to be brought back to days long ago!
Sondra_H –
Very much over acted! I think it should be a wee less dramatic and a wee more informative. The information provided could be found from any tour and the rooms were not spectacular.
Paul_R –
Tour guide excellent, but vaults pretty poor experience .wouldn’t recommend to friends or family what more can I say
Lloyd_D –
The guide’s knowledge of the history and his presentations were an added bonus to the experience of the vaults.
Rosanne_M –
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. If I recall, Seb was our guide. Very knowledgeable & entertaining. Certainly cleared up some myths we’d heard about the tombs & underground Edinburgh.
Stephen_L –
Great tour guid was very knowledgeable.. They had a lot of underground vaults to explore.. if it wasn’t guided you could get lost
Sue_M –
The guide was really cute and enjoyable but oversold the vaults as far as being haunted. It didnt work and it fell flat. I wish there had been some mention of the black plague and more history surrounding that.
Gabriel_P –
It was very interesting tour , we learn a lot about this site! Thank you very much ! James was amazing
Kendra_M –
Great fun! A little spooky down in the vaults, but very immersive. I would say if you are afraid of the dark, maybe this one’s not for you.
Laurette_L –
The guide was excellent, he told the story of the vaults under Edinburgh in a lively, enthusiastic and humorous way. I always would recommend his tour.

Our guide Fraser was a lot of fun. He told us a lot of interesting information about the history of the tunnels and old Edinburgh how it was back in the day. Enjoyed hearing about the seeded side of the city.Definitely not for anyone Claustrophobic

It was an amazing experience. A lot of interesting data about history and the guide was a marvelous communicator that give us a truly spooky and immersive enviroment. I will recommend it for sure
Benjamin_A –
Spooky and educational! Jordan was fantastic. Saw the vaults and learned about the history in engaging and concise but thorough format.
Larry_M –
Maggie was an awesome guide. She explained everything very well. I also loved her Scottish accent. The ghost stories and the witches vaults were my favorite part
Patricia_D –
Stew knew so much about the history of deaths and the vaults. Learning about the executions and tortures of individuals as young as 4+ years of age, was so eye opening. Don’t go into this tour thinking it will be all rainbows and butterflies, this is a much darker type of tour. But still a lot of laughs.
Jason_H –
Darren was amazing! A great mix of information, comedy, and a little bit spooky. Darren was an excellent storyteller, helping make the vaults come alive. Highly recommend!
Alison_W –
A really informative and entertaining short tour with our knowledgeable guide Darren who had many great stories and some really interesting history about Edinburgh to tell. Something a little different and great way to spend an hour.
