I think it sensible to not offer so close to an event if weather is obviously not going to allow the flight – I would have saved £1k in additional flights and hotel from Istanbul and would have gone elsewhere with my kids in Turkey.

Going up in a balloon above Cappadocia at sunrise is amazing and a must do! We enjoyed that very much. I’d give 5 starts for that. However, we had a terrible experience with pick-up! Our flight was for sunrise and we stayed near by. The pick up time was set for 5, which seemed late but ok, we have to trust that they know. Bus arrives at our hotel on time and driver has our names. We board and drive up a hill, which seems in the wrong direction. About 10 minutes into the ride, we’re stopped and told to switch because apparently the wrong company did the pick up. How that’s possible, I’m not sure since they had our names. Anyway, we get into the other car and the driver speeds like a maniac to get us to the launch point. He’s driving on a one way, unpaved, very bumpy road, with opposing traffic coming his way. Scary. We finally get to the balloon and everyone has already boarded and waiting. We went up much later than scheduled and missed watching the set up of the balloon. In addition, we didn’t get the included breakfast. Unfortunate that such a great experience started in a bad way. For $300 please do better by your customers. There’s so much competition for this, in my opinion, screwing up is not a good way to stand out.

Awesome experience! The pilot and team was very nice and helpful. Going up and off the hot air balloon was easy. They demonstrated how the hot air balloon works and what to do in case of a hard landing. The pilot flew us around and showed us different views of Cappadocia and even the sunrise. In the end we had a champagne shower. All in all, I would recommend this to everyone 10/10
