Thao_P –
Mt Fuji and Hakone, great, too short time at the last stop not enough time to visit 2places in 20minutes.
However, an awesome trip.

We booked on this tour as a group of 20 (4 adults and 16 teenagers). We had a fantastic day. Our tour guide, Angela, was fabulous – very helpful, friendly and good humoured. Her English was excellent and she was able to explain about the different places we went to. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great day.
Through doing the tour, we were able to explore far more of the Mount Fuji area than if we tried to do this ourselves. The day ran smoothly and everything was well organised.
Thank-you to Angela for a great day!

Tour Guide – Our guide, Taka, was very helpful and informative. He had lots of ancedotes to share
Overall Tour – pickup point was a bit confusing since there were several tours in the same place. But overall it was ok.
Though would have loved to stay @Mt. Fuji for some more time.

Let me begin with the most important thing: you will pay a LOT less if you book directly from the company. The name is written in the tour and you can go to their website.
Second, there is a great chance that you won’t see mount Fuji at all.
Third, the lunch is really poor.
The rest is ok, but if you’re going to Kyoto, why loosing a day with a so so lake and temples?!

We enjoyed all parts of this tour , our guide Mint was excellent and very caring (I walk with a stick). Also the driver was excellent

Most of the trip was spent on a bus (within expectations due to travel distance) and I really wish the tour guide had been a bit more involved, as the automated audio guide on the bus was heavily relied upon.
As for our itinerary… Mt Fuji was unfortunately covered by clouds when we were up at the 5th Station. No one can control the weather so I don’t hold this against anyone. The Hakone ropeway was fine but the views at the Owakudani valley were not worth the intense sulfuric smell, in my opinion. I did enjoy the Lake Ashi cruise and the hike up to the Hakone shrine.
We did choose the lunch option but regretted it – the quality of food was subpar and nothing seemed fresh. The “ninja village” had a nice garden for photos though.
All in all, I don’t really think the trip was worth the time or money. It may be more productive/worth it to plan a direct trip to the Mt Fuji area for more a more relaxed pace of travel and to give yourself a good chance to catch Mt Fuji in optimal weather conditions.

Don’t know where to start. There was so much to see and do. Angie our guide was super amazing. Even tried the black eggs.

Bus left late. Extreme rain on the day of the tour – understanding that the tour terms say rain or shine – I showed the employee checking everyone that there were multiple seats available on the next day’s trip and he just kept stating “fully booked” despite me showing him the listing to his face. Tour operator got everyone onto the bus and then stated that there was an incoming typhoon, so expect activities to be cancelled. Yes, the tour operator knew there was a typhoon, knew there would be cancelled activities, and still forced everyone to take the tour.
Lake Ashi Cruise and Lake Ashinoko stops were cancelled. We were told we would be going to Odawara Castle as the substitute activity. As is REQUIRED by the terms of the listing and by the itinerary they supplied day of, cancelled activities will be replaced with another activity. We finished at the shrine and were told we wouldn’t actually be going to the castle and the tour was simply over. As an apology for the terrible weather and the multiple cancelled activities, we were handed an “omamori” or Japanese amulet by the tour guide as we loaded the bus for the trains station, who expressed apologies. Having purchased the exact same item from the shrine shop, the cost was 500 yen ($3.39 USD). Nothing more was said other than “sorry”.
I reached out first to Viator for a partial refund for the cancelled activity, who denied my refund within minutes. I then reached out to Japan Panoramic Tours, this tour operator, and they responded with the attached. That the entire Lake Ashinoko tour and cruise was covered because we accepted the 500 yen amulet as “compensation.” They then told Viator that the amulet was itself an “activity”, so Viator again denied my refund on re-review. I attempted to inform them that that’s not how that works, and they simply stopped responding to me.
Less than honest tour operator who does not live up to promises they made in a binding contract for services, and their behavior after the fact put a huge damper on the tour.
As for the tour itself, Hakone Ropeway and the shrine were great. Ninja village was small and took approximately 10 minutes to walk through. Lunch was terrible, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pack your own lunch, Even a grab and go from a convenience store would be better.

It was a great time at Mt Fuji and Hakone. Roji and Suzuki San were great guiding us.
It was a shame that weather didn’t help us with the Mt Fuji views, but overall it was very satisfying experience.
Transport and lunch were very good. Also cruise and cable car. We’d have liked to stay more time in some places, but schedule was tight for so many activities.
Annie_L –
The trip was just great because of our tour guide Taka. He was so informative and very helpful. I recommend Taka, tremendously. I hope Viator recognize such a wonderful “ asset” he has been to the company.

You see a lot in a lot of different places and are different experiences and very worthwhile. Different modes of transport also.

Fabulous value for money with the amount you get to see and do in one day. Although you travel a long way, the commentary keeps it interesting.

We had enjoyable and wonderful experience with this tour. Thank you specially to our funny and friendly tour guide Angie. Also to the bus driver that make our tour safely. I will recommend this to my friend for sure.
Charlie_G –
I liked this tour because it allowed me to not stress the details, and see a lot more than I would have otherwise if I was relying on public transport. It wasn’t perfect and plans had to change a lot to accommodate for traffic and cancelled plans but I appreciate that the tour group always had a plan B. We got the lunch and I didn’t really like it but I am glad something was provided. Our tour guide Yuta was very nice and was actually from Australia, which I mention since I had seen other reviewers comment that their English tour was led by someone who only spoke barely passable English. Due to traffic our plans were delayed a lot but we ended up with a perfect view of Fuji so that was great, I only wish our stay at 5th station was longer we ended up only being able to stay like 30 minutes while other less important activities got more time.

Our first time in Japan, it’s a wonderful vacation to see those amazing places. Our tour guide ( ( Key Saki ) was very nice, approachable, accommodating. It’s a perfect 10 for her. We definitely go back to this places and recommend this to our friends.
Eleonora_M –
Great day out. We had amazing weather and our guide Kayo was absolutely incredible. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide Levin was fantastic, he made the tour and really went out of his way to ensure everyone was having a good time. Everyone in our group really enjoyed all of his personal stories that he shared about living in Japan and Japanese culture. We did get stuck in a massive traffic jam and missed a few places on our itinerary, however they just replaced it with another place that was just as good if not better.
Thali_S –
What made this tour really fantastic was our guide Mint. He was knowledgeable, fun and patient.
Mint shared about the history and culture of the places we visited, as well as interesting facts about the Japanese way of living.
