It was beautiful to see and experience Mt. Etna covered with snow. Our guide, Roberto was wonderful – had us all geared up in snowshoes and took good care to be sure we were all safe and comfortable. He was very knowledgeable and taught us much about the volcanoe.

Totally recommend this tour of Mount Etna with Giuseppe.
Giuseppe was full of enthusiasm and his knowledge and love of Mount Etna was outstanding.
You are provided with well insulated jackets and hiking shoes for comfort and stability.
During our tour, we would proceed to a number of talking/check points which worked out well for tour participants, to catch your breath between check points.
We rose up to approximately 1800 metres in altitude which wasn’t difficult to achieve, I’m 55 yrs old of moderate fitness level and I didn’t find the incline challenging at all.
During the walk Giuseppe will take you along pathways which circle the circumference of 5 extinct crators from the major eruption in 1865. Again the path is sufficient in width and the drop off’s are not an issue.
Plenty of opportunities for photographs 📸 are given so you are never hurried.
When declining down form the crators you are then taken down to an extinct lava tube which you then enter and investigate.
At the end of your walking tour you then head back to the winery and are offered lunch – home made breads with delicious fillings – and a glass of wine to top off a great day.
I highly recommend Etna People – hopefully you’ll be lucky and assigned Giuseppe – for your tour of Mount Etna. You will not be disappointed.

Observing the geological AND floral changes were most interesting. The ascent and descent were challenging for a 66 y.o. however the guide assisted me in the toughest terrain. He was extremely knowledgeable and fun to be with.

Rain called off hike after about 10minutes after starting the hike and after the lava cave. The mist was continuous and thick so couldn’t see anything. Boots not waterproof. Would have been better to have cancelled the whole thing before setting off and refunded.
