Une experience parfaite ! Nous étions que mon compagnon, Giuseppe et moi. Giuseppe est une personne adorable et très intéressante, nous avons eu droit à énormément d’explications sur le fonctionnement des volcans, l’histoire de l’etna et la flore environnante. Je conseille vivement ce tour qui en plus physiquement parlant est assez simple.

Giuseppe was a first class guide – so knowledgeable about Etna and what we were seeing and took the 5km hike to Valle del Bove at a gentle pace. The weather was a bit changeable – wind, mist, rain then sun so a light waterproof and/or fleece and strong walking shoes or boots are essential as the terrain is quite rocky and uneven in parts. These can be hired from Refuguio Sapienza but wish we’d known about this beforehand as we could have brought our own.
That said a really unique experience and one to treasure.

Great trip to Etna. Our tour guide was exceptional! Got picked up at our airbnb location in syracuse and drove us safely all the way there. He answered all our questions and gave us even more info than we knew we wanted. Very friendly and knowledgeable. 10/10

Guissepe is personable,knowledeable and professional. On our tour to Etna he shared much information about the volcano and its origins. He knew all the right spots to take amazing pictures and where to stop just to enjoy the beauty of the landscape. His knowledge of endemic plant and animal species is amazing. He also has great knowledge of food and shared recipes and also great restaurant recommendations in Ortigia, where we stayed. He also shared much about Siracusa and the way of life. He is an excellent driver and my wife and I could not ask for a better guide.

The tour was with Sicily Unearthed. Giuseppe was our guide, and he was great. He provided very interesting facts about Aetna, the surrounding area and Sicily. Had great general conversations on the way up and back. His English is very good. We hiked about 3 miles up and back (recommend good hiking shoes/boots) which was about 2.5 to 3 hours. Took short breaks along the way (female age 58). Reached about 2400 meters above sea level. We did not do the bus and rail to the top as not worth the crowds. Also can’t see crater if cloudy. Highly recommend if you like walking and nature.

We loved our private Etna tour. Giuseppe was extremely knowledgeable on both Etna and Sicily in general. The route was very pleasant and not too tiresome. We would definitely recommend this tour to others
