The trip was just beautiful. We received a very warm welcome and were then able to feed the reindeer for a long time, after which we had dinner. During the entire stay we could always get hot drinks to warm up and cookies. After the meal it was time to go to the reindeer. Then a Sami told us something about the culture and of course about the reindeer. A very successful trip, thank you very much!

The tour starts with a short bus transfer to the farm. After a short introduction we had the oportunity to feed the reindeer. There were lots of the cute animals, which was nice. Feeding was a bit funny when they battle a bith with each other with their antlers. For those freezing (icy wind..), it was able to warm up in one of the huts. The lunch with either reindeer stew or tomato soup was well organized and the food quite tasty. The best (after all the animals.. ;)) was the informational talk that one of the Sami gave afterwards. She was very nice and funny. To sum up – a nice trip, but with some length and in my eyes not absolutely recommandable but okay.

After about 25 minutes of driving (2 coaches, about 120 people) you will be warmly welcomed and informed about the procedure. Then you get time with the animals and can move freely in the huge enclosure (about 250 animals). In between there is the sleigh ride. We didn’t have any and were very happy about it, because depending on the booking you only drive 1 or 2 laps at walking pace in a circle in the enclosure. You can always warm up in one of the lavvus. There are also hot drinks and biscuits throughout and then reindeer stew. Finally there is a (superficial) lecture by a Sami about their culture. In spite of the high number of participants, it was very easy to get lost in the large area and you could always find a free spot to take photos without other people. The animals were very tame (maximum is a little shoved). When petted, they retreat, otherwise they are not at all shy. Above all, the closeness to the animals makes this excursion very special.
