In itself, the card is great for a city trip, you can travel without problems with public transport and get some advantages when visiting sights. What bothered me, however, is that you have to go to the tourist information with the voucher bought here to pick up the actual “card”. However, this was just a simple piece of paper with only the start time on it. I found the effort enormous, why can not this be put online as an option to print yourself. Especially since parking at the information desk at the station is only possible to a limited extent.

The tourist card is very useful for public transport in the Dusseldorf area, unlimited travel on bus, tram, underground and train within the city. It also entitles you to discounted entry to many public attractions but I didn’t use it for this purpose. As in many European cities, the transport runs on trust but if you get caught without a ticket, the penalties are high so this card takes away any hassle of trying to buy tickets on the run.
