As Outlander brought the city of Inverness and I picked this trip to see that famous city! And I was blown away with everything else on this trip. Going over the mountians and some small hiking trips was wonderful. While it was dark when we got to Inverness I can say I was there. But the way back was the highlight! Loch Ness was beautiful! The boat ride was perfect. Glencoe was beyond humbling. Our guide was extremely educated and stopped multipule times for pictures and bathrooms. Can’t recommend enough.

One of the best tours I’ve been on.
James our tour guide was awesome. Very knowledgeable and approachable, an asset to the company. Being a very small group, James went out of his way to show us as much around his beautiful country as he could fit in.
The highlands are absolutely stunning, and with the recent snow, made it all the more beautiful.
Can’t wait to come back in summer now.

I found this two day adventure even better than I had hoped. For that I thank our driver and guide, Martin. He managed our tour with grace and humor. I learned about, admired and enjoyed The Highlands.

I could rate 100 stars and it wouldn’t be enough. I read many reviews in planning my family’s trip in Nov, 2021. This decision truly MADE our trip and gave us family memories that we treasure. We were based in Edinburg for a week and took the 2 day/1 night trip, staying in Inverness for the night. It honestly felt like we were gone far longer there was so much packed in.
Imagine being transported over the rolling hills of the Highlands while learning the nuances of the traditional music played for you, being regaled by history of characters coming to life, totally immersed in the geology, flora, and culture of Scotland. This is IT.
I used to breeze past reviews that pointed out one tour guide, because we might not get that same guide. I get it. But this review has to point out both the company AND the guide.
First, we got lucky because the tour bus for 10 people ended up being just our family of five. The other passengers didn’t show up! To the company’s credit, the home office agreed to slightly alter the itinerary to get us to some places we thought we would miss in Scotland. We were amazed, they didn’t have to do that. To me, this shows the company’s commitment to providing amazing experiences to customers. It makes me trust that they also care to hire guides who will carry through, too.
Our guide was Sean. I’m pretty I’ll always hear my kids start phrases like “remember when Shawn showed us the…” This man has got to be the most legendary guide around. A teacher and Renaissance man, there was literally not a question or discussion we could bring up that we wasn’t knowledgeable about. I could go on and on. He brought everything to life and had 3 teenagers at attention. I’m including a photo I took of our family and one of Sean. We asked that he drive us past his family home on the way to St. Andrew’s. He is a living symbol of the history and modernity of this beautiful country. We were sad to leave his company.
This is a long past-due thank you to Viator and especially to Sean! You faaarrrrr exceeded our expectations of what a side-trip tour could be. We feel we went home truly gifted with the spirit of Scotland. And, we left unexpectedly convinced that this wouldn’t be our last trip to Scotland.

Graham makes it a Five Star tour. He put all his spirit on it. My first language isn’t English and I understood him everything. Not only he knows the stories, he is a natural storyteller and also plays a soundtrack for the trip. It was lovely, everything went well!

The guide Nick and drive Allan. And the beautiful trip they organized. Incl some extras the passengers would like to see

There was so much packed into this tour. Absolutely amazing. Our tour guide Pete was terrific, the best tour guide! He told wonderful historical stories of Scotland throughout the trip. I loved everywhere we went; Blackness Castle, Culross Palace, whiskey tasting at Dalwhinney distillery, the stones-Clava Cairns, Culloden Battlefield & on to Inverness. The next day was a fabulous cruise on a Jacobite boat down the River Ness to Urquhart Castle. Then to Glencoe. It was extraordinary! I highly recommend this tour! I also enjoyed all the Scottish music on the coach during the trip!

Allen was the absolute best. I loved getting to hear stories and facts about the highlands. He did an amazing job setting the scene and giving us a glimpse into the history and culture. I would take this tour again whenever I come back!

  9. Heather_J

I enjoyed The quick pull over stops to take pics. The variety of landscape. The hike around the lake was fun. I enjoyed the narration.

Culloden was very beautiful and moving, and the natural beauty of the highlands was spectacular. The B&B in Inverness was pleasant and comfortable with an excellent breakfast.

We loved this two-day tour up to Inverness. Our driver/tour guide Donald was the best! Fun, funny, and full of stats, information, history, and stories. He really listened to the group of us and adjusted his schedule and bus stops to accommodate our interests. We could have spent several more days to see everything we wanted, but we certainly enjoyed what we were able to fit in. We stayed at a B&B in Inverness overnight, very comfortable and just a few steps from the riverfront. I took about a hundred pictures in two days–the Highlands are breathtaking. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a taste of what Scotland has to offer.

2-dayTour gave us a nice overview of the Highlands. It was so nice to have a tour guide to share with you the history of what you are seeing plus do the driving so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery, something you would not have on your own road trip. Ashleigh was an EXCEPTIONAL guide (friendly, fun, knowledgeable and informative) and made sure everyone had a great time!!

  13. Amy_K

Highly recommend. Great way to get a feel for the Highlands. Everything went smoothly and Mark was a great guide- took good care of our group and great history, humor, and music on the way! Tip: make a dinner reservation for Inverness- restaurants filled up early in the evening.

All of it was wonderful but Glen Coe was favorite and of course all of the history stories told by Peter

Rodger was great driver and tour guide. Broad history knowledge. Very accommodating. Wonderful experience, definitely must do! I’ve learned so much about Scotland. Definitely a must do experience!

A highlight of our trip to Scotland; Keith and Decklen were outstanding. Felt private enough with the small vehicle and we saw all the main sites

  17. Brandon_C

Had an awesome time. Our guide Kelly was amazing. Friendly, funny, and really went that extra mile. She really made the tour.

  18. Daniel_N

This is our first time doing a tour like this, and we definitely will be doing another one again. Our guide Decland was fantastic. He was kind, funny, and very knowledgeable on the history and culture of all the places we traveled.
The hotel we stayed in was great and the places we saw were breathtaking. The cherry on top was that we did not have to plan a thing once we paid! We simply had to show up at the right place at the right time!
I can’t recommend this tour enough.

  19. Adelina_C

We were very lucky to get the best guide in town!
We had an amazing time with Bruce.
A super fun and friendly travel companion always worried with showing us the best spots, the greatest views and making our trip so nice.
Also he provided a very cool soundtrack to this trip!
