Very well structured tour from start to finish. The tour of the spice farm was very extensive, you could smell and touch everything. There was also a home-cooked lunch with spices and fruit from the farm. The tour of Stone Town was very flexible and our wishes were always taken care of. Therefore, it is best to think beforehand what you would like to see/know.

The tour was a stroke of luck. We had booked the group tour but were traveling alone. The taxi driver picked us up at the hotel on time and drove us to the plantation. The guide there lives for the cultivation of spices and knew something to say about everything. His English was always easy to understand and we walked calmly through the organic plantation, which looked more like a jungle. At the end there was a delicious lunch. After the taxi brought us into town, we were greeted by another guide. He was a bit hectic, but also very nice. At his sporty pace we saw a lot of the city and learned about the different (occupation) eras and slave history. There was still time to go to the shops that interested us. We weren’t pushed anywhere to buy anything. Rather, he helped us trade. The only mini minus point: was not informed about the pick-up time 24 hours before departure, she had to ask.

The Spice Farm was by far the best part of this tour. The guides were very knowledgeable and funny. They have dozens of different spices and fruits to see and try. The meal cooked for us was amazing too. Really special.
The Stone Town was okay but the guide spoke little English (which is fine as it wasn’t his natural language) so it made asking questions difficult.
Our transfer was straightforward from our hotel too.
