Our small group of 7 arrived on time to meet the tour guide who took us to the entrance.
We were not let in early, we were let in the same time they opened the gates for the general public. Once we meet our Beefeater, he basically told us exactly what the tour guide told us earlier.
The Beefeater was only with us for approx. 30 minutes which was a let down. I would have thought this might have been a more detailed tour.
I probably could have learned more from the audio tour and it probably would have been cheaper.

Pointless. Waste of money, didn’t get early access as our guide’s ticket wasn’t working and hundreds of people went in before us.

Michael was awesome with his very knowledgeable witty pre beefeater tour. Very well organised and his knowledge of London was second to none. We had an amazing beefeater for our tour. Later on in our experience at the tower we had a specific question which other beefeater were more than happy to share their knowledge with us. Absolute bang on day.

    Nun Wahrnehmung ist immer Subjektiv, aber ich würde ihnen diese Tour nicht empfehlen. Aus folgenden Gründen;

Not exactly sure what I paid for as the experience was not as advertised. Through no fault of the City of Wonder tour guide, we were late departing as there was an issue with the reservations of two other people. Finally, she took the rest of us down to the entrance (15 minutes before opening) and was having a difficult time getting the staff to recognize our tour reservation (again, not her fault. The ToL staff just seemed completely uninterested in helping her and kept putting her off). As a result, we were left standing at the entrance while people with general admission tickets were being let into the Tower. When we finally got access to a Beefeater, he spent a grand total of about 10-15 minutes with us and then sent us off on our own. No guided tour.
Again, not sure what we paid extra for as it would have been faster and cheaper to just get regular tickets and come in ourselves.
Also, to be clear, the City of Wonder representative was lovely and doing her best, but seemed to be left out to dry by her company.

The city wonder guide was late and did not communicate with anyone in the group. She said nothing but to walk us to the entrance and then walk away. 30 min late. I tried to communicate with Viator and they completely ignored me. Everyone in the group was upset. The actual Beefeater was great and made up for the awful treatment by CityWonder.

Tour guide did not show up until 8:50 so we did not get “ early” access
Beefeater was great and really enjoyed that part of the tour.
Went to Crown jewels by 9:30 and we got in quickly. Do not go much later to see The Crown Jewels or you will wait in the hot sun or rain.
Very interesting and liked that we got to explore on our own after we were given background history from Beefeater.

If i could give this zero stars, it would still be too much. Nothing against our guide or beefeater, who were doing the best with what they were given i suspect. We paid about 3x what we would have for a standard family pass to visit Tower of London. We were told there would be early access (there wasn’t) and a tour (there wasn’t) and an audience with a beefeater (there was for about 15 minutes, then he went off to lead the free tours they give all day long – which we could join if we were so inclined). This was, hands down, the largest waste of money we have ever experienced in a family excursion. We had limited time in London and had hoped that early access would mean skipping the masses – it didn’t. We didn’t have to stand in line but we didn’t go in any earlier than anyone else. I could have gotten there at the same time and been ahead of the game without this booking. We have done many tours and tipped gratefully at the end on top of being happy to have paid the going price, and I believe this isn’t a matter of us being overly ‘picky’. I will be requesting a reimbursement for the misleading and disappointing experience.

The Medieval Palace and Traitor’s Gate were amazing to see. To see where the executions took place was sobering.

Loved getting to see the grounds before the crowds got there. Our guard was quite entertaining and fun

Great tour — beat the crowds and learned tons about the Tower. Enjoyed by the whole family — kids, parents, grandparents

  12. Michelle_D

Excellent tour but note that most of it is outside. Both the Windy City guide and the Beefeater were excellent.

  13. David_F

Beefeater tour was great but the pre tour tour guide was very difficult to understand. She was also a bit scattered. The tour inside the tower was wonderful

  14. Tracy_G

Thoroughly enjoyed it. There is so much to see, will have to visit again to see the rest as we had booked something else at 2pm and we started at 0830. Very educational.

  15. Amy_M

Was supposed to include tickets to go up in London bridge but were never given the tickets so missed that part of tour

We enjoyed the facts given to us before we entered the Tower of London but the real winner was our Beefeater, Dan! What a great experience to learn from him. Getting inside before the crowds was a plus too!! I will be recommending this to everyone.
