I would definitely recommend this kind of tour to be purchased on its own because this place is huge and requires a lot of time and attention. I am glad I split it between the other tours (Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque). I just think this is way overpriced tour ($60/person) considering that it is just walking tour where you arrive to the meeting point, no food included, and its only 3 hours.
However, Cem our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining (funny). He knew so many interesting stories and facts. He showed us the tiniest details all around the palace and had a story for everything. His English was very good and easy to understand. We were so happy and grateful when he gifted us small book of Quran.

Excellent tour by our guide, Hulya, which was a great blend of guided tour with some freedom to explore some areas at your own pace as well. There is so much to see in the palace and the grounds are huge, so the length of the tour was perfect. I highly recommend going to the morning tour as it becomes very crowded later in the day, but we started early and were able to beat most of the crowds, and our guide was great at navigating around them.

This tour was absolutely fantastic! Our guide was Cetin and he was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and especially the inner workings of the palace. True to the title of the tour, we did not have queue to pick up tickets, which was fantastic. The tour started at around 9:00am which meant that there were very few crowds around as we started the visit to the palace.
One of the main reasons I booked this tour was because it included entrance to the harem along with the guide. Several others that I had looked at originally either didn’t offer entrance to the harem included in the price, or they did but without the guide. I am so so glad that we went with Cetin to accompany us, as he was able to explain so much more about life in the palace than what was written on the sparse informational signs around the area.
In total, the tour lasted about 3 hours and afterwards we were able to visit a few of the areas which were not covered in the tour, including the holy relics, the library and the fourth courtyard. This tour was well worth the price and I would highly recommend it!
