Jodi –
Fantastic tour of Tallawoladah, otherwise known as The Rocks. Our guide Vickie was very knowledgeable and gave us a great overview of post-colonial Sydney history, with interesting Rocks stories about the place and its people. If you can handle walking up and down slopes and stairs, and love history, you will enjoy this walking tour. The pace was good, with plenty of rests in between stops. We were lucky to have clear skies in winter, too. We will return to some of the places again. There are stories around every corner.
A brief acknowledgement to the traditional owners, the local indigenous people, was mentioned, which was respectful.

This is a great tour to do as a visitor or a local. You will hear some interesting stories about early identities amongst convicts and early settlers. The tour is at the pace of the group and utilizes lots of back alleys and walkways you might otherwise miss. Loved it

The tour gave me a greater understanding of the tough lives experienced by the ordinary people in the early days of Sydney. In particular the lack of sanitation must have been a sickening aspect of daily life that could not be avoided. It made me realise how lucky we are today.
