Kris was a great guide. He was full of interesting facts and thoughtful of everyone’s needs. We had a great day with like minded people, a lovely lunch and of course a selection of Hunter Valley wines, chocolate and delicious cheeses to sample!

The guide is very detailed friendly and helpful. Was so happy to visit the vineyards. Learnt much much of the alcohol.

Had a great day with Tom as our driver/guide. All of the wineries we visited were nice and had a good variety of wine selections. I would do this trip again.

The tour with a small group was funny like travelling with Friends. The guide and driver take care off us very well.
We visit great locations, excellent lunch, a lot of tastings at beautiful places . At all an amazing day.

Tom was our driver and he could be best described as hot and cold. He was very protective over his bus about no eating, drinking, or dirty shoes (he made someone go to the bathroom and wash their shoes). When it came to keeping the group together and lunch, he was the overprotective dad lol. The tour itself was AWESOME. The wines were more dry than sweet, but I knew that going into it.

the bus was very uncomfortable – poor seats and it felt like it had no shocks. The driver was not attentive. We stood around waiting for him to finish telling stories before we could head home.

Great experience in tasting Australian wines. Last stop at the Chocolate store was awesome. Thank-you!

Great 1 day tour conveniently organized from Sydney! 4 pines brewery/wine tasting and Pokolbin Estate were delicious beautiful experiences + lovely views of vineyards. The drive is not too long, wines are plenty, the guide Tom was lots of fun!)) You don’t get much time/opportunity to walk at vineyards or visit lookouts, but it’s a perfect tour for wine-lovers who want to have a fun easy day and get a bit of a taste of Hunter Valley

We had heard a lot about the Hunter Valley so took the time to go visit it when we were in Sydney. It’s great that the van is a small van, for 12 people; it was full the day we went because we picked up two additional passengers who were staying out there. Everyone was really friendly which made for a good group as we moved about the the various stops.
The reason this isn’t 5 star is because the operator can probably use their clout with the various wineries to better seating/service/extras.
The first stop was the best as it was wines paired with chocolates and they were generous pours, though we were standing the entire 20 minutes, but the host, Anthony, was very engaged and obliging, though he slung wine around everywhere while serving it.
The second stop, the attendant was also a great personality, though we were seated at plastic tables in a room while there were beautifully laid outdoor tables that were much more scenic; at this stop they had nothing to eat, not even to purchase, though the waitress brought me a bowl of crackers when I specifically asked if we could buy some cheese (only for members today the lady behind the counter said).
So they tour should tell us to bring nibbles or ask that we be provided with something.
The third place was for lunch and that was nice; pre-ordered to save time (but the chicken was dry) then we went upstairs for another tasting. This one had cheese and crackers but the attendant would pour and then sort of run out of the room each time to let us ‘enjoy’ our drink which seemed like she didn’t want to be with us.
The fourth stop, a gin and vodka place, had a very engaged presenter but no mixers at all for gin or vodka, not even a club soda. This seemed really strange as then there was a range of schnapps as well. Wouldn’t it make sense to offer some? Even a glass of water in between the sips. Puzzled why the outlet wouldn’t spare a $2 can of soda to offset what a group spends…

What a great day Peter the driver and guide was brilliant wine and spirit tasting in 4 different vineyards chocolate and cheese tasting were brilliant dinner which was included was lovely I could not recommend this trip highly enough

1st winery was excellent with a great tour and tasting. The lunch at the next winery was great and tasting presentation good. The distillery was terrible. Rushed through in minutes with many not getting their full number of samples. Even our guide Mark could not believe how fast it was. Last stop for wine and chocolate was dissapointing as where left on our own to do it. Guide Mark was great!

Our driver and guide Tom, was excellent. Even though we encountered a crash on the M1, he was able to keep us on as good a schedule as possible given a one hour delay. The choices of wineries were very good, especially Tempus Two. The vehicle was in very good condition and comfortable. I would definitely book with this tour company again.

The driver of our bus tour was very informative and knowledgeable of the area of our tour and went out of the way to provide us with close encounters of wild Kangaroos that were resting in the shades of the trees. The wineries that we visited for tasting were good except of the last one on our tour that was suppose to pair chocolates with their wines – but we were placed in a hot outside area and just served a tray with wines and boxed type of chocolates without any narrative or anyone from the winery to provide any information about the wines that we were taste testing. It was a bit disappointing and we felt that we were a mere inconvenience to the winery and they only met their obligation of wine and chocolates without any representation. I would have rated this tour with a higher rating if not for the the final winery experience at Pokolbin Estates.

Enjoyable trip and learned about the history of the region and wine industry in the area. Bonus was the robust interactions and conversations with the tour host and other tour participants.

I would not recommend this trip to anyone who actually knows anything about wine or even wants to know anything about wine. We had four stops—the first was actually a regular (albeit low end) winery. Second stop was lunch at a very mediocre pub. Lunch was a greasy entree with no starter, no dessert, no coffee and a small glass of either very cheap wine or a HALF glass of beer. After lunch we were served some very cheap innocuous wines with a bit of cheese. Then on to a sketchy distillery which makes flavored alcohol which is really low end. Last stop was a regular but low end winery. Our guide was polite but completely unengaged and not at all interested in the wines or us as he does this exact trip every day. It was nice to see the hunter valley scenery but don’t plan on any fine dining or good wines.

The organisation, driver and coach were all well done. The venues visited were all very nice and enjoyable. We would have liked better wines for the tastings and a higher standard meal.

Fabulous day doing what we love to do. Mark, our tour guide, was top notch, very knowledge, fun, personable. He made the trip so worth it and memorable.

  20. Michele_d

The guide was amazing. Knowledgeable about the wines and humorous. The tour itself was amazing and a great value for dollar. We had several different tastings at all
The wineries. Just a fantastic experience.

We had the perfect size group of 7 ladies that got along really well. Loved the diversity of wineries, with pairings of cheeses a chocolates. It was quite nice! Great tour guide, Tom, who shared just enough info. Perfect weather and great day overall.
