Very well organized. Jeff was a great tour guide and took us to some great wineries as well as a cheese tasting and chocolate pairing. To be honest lunch became a bit of a struggle!! But I would highly recommend this tour for both an excellent experience.

  2. Sally_M

It was a great group of people. Three wonderful wineries, a great lunch, and a lovely cheese tasting. The trip from Sydney was long, but the guide kept it interesting by sharing facts about the region and suggestions of things to do.

  3. Judi

Tony was a great tour guide, providing historical background as he drove us to Hunter Valley. The wineries poured us a number of different wines specific to the region. Lunch at Crystal Lakes golf course was delicious. We were even able to see a number of kangaroo mobs during our travels. I highly recommend this trip and Tony!

  4. Glenn_H

The wine was great. It is amazing that such great wine doesn’t make it out of the local area. Each winery explained the tasting process and what to look for. The addition of the cheese tasting gave it an extra spin that was unexpected. The guide was a wealth of knowledge, both on the area, and Australian culture.

Jeff, our tour guide was EXCELLENT. The Hunter Valley Wine Tour is something I do every time I am in Sydney and this was my tenth time. This particular one was EXCELLENT, due to Jeff AND the varied WINERIES we went to on this tour. As well, our group of 14 on the bus were FUN and all got along VERy WELL! After the first wine stop, Iw oddly say we bonded and LAUGHED the rest of the day!

  7. Jennifer_R

Jim was a wonderful host/driver. He made the trip super fun and we left very informed. The first winery was our favorite “Saddlers” but all three were fabulous and the scenery was beautiful!

  8. Jacob_S

We had an amazing time. This was a great value for the money. We went to 3 wineries, had lunch and a cheese tasting. Andrew, our driver was great to have along and made our time enjoyable

Seeing some of rural Australia and getting to taste some fantastic wines.
Chris our tour guide was great, he was very chatty and friendly.

This tour was cancelled late the night before it was to happen due to illness by the tour operator. They were willing to reschedule for a later date, however, we were leaving the next day. We had planned this tour way in advance and at the last minute, there were NO tours available to anything, so it ruined our stay in Sydney. I understand things can happen, but it left us without a tour to any major attraction. We could have gone home early and saved $300 on a hotel stay. Over the course of 2 weeks, Viator tour operators canceled 3 out of 4 of our tours that we planned. It left us with a bad feeling about Australia and New Zealand tours. I will have to say that the communication between the operator and us was great, just very disappointing.

Fun time, good group of people. Jim was very knowledgeable, the people at the wineries were very nice,

Great 1st winery – saddler’s creek and the country club lunch. Jeff the driver was nice and stopping to see wild kangaroos was interesting.

  13. Purva_J

It was a great trip, pick up was well on time. Our tour guide was amazing, very informative. He went out of the way to drop us at out hotel. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were on a business vacation and the company’s Hunter Valley trip had filled up! We came all the way to Australia and we wanted to see wine country! So I got online and found Viator’s trip, and we were so happy. We ended up having an even better time than the other trip! Our driver was super nice and knowledgeable. We got stuck in traffic for an hour and a half, but he made sure that we still hit all the vineyards and stops that were on the itinerary.
It was a little awkward being the only Americans amongst a group of UKers, but we made it work! 🙂
    Thank you!

  15. Gwen_Y

The three wineries chosen were very hospital. We had private rooms all set up and ready for us. The cafe lunch was good too.

  16. George_z

    Very interesting and funny.
The guild is nice and knowledgeable.
A lot of vines and nice cheese.
    Thanks to this Viator.

Travelling solo to the Hunter valley was such a wonderful experience. My tour guide Jim was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. He was so welcoming to everyone and had the best sense of humour. I’d hugely recommend this trip to solos, couples and groups.

  18. Bruce_I

So glad we booked this trip to the Hunter Valley wineries with Viator. Our driver Chris was fantastic not to mention the wines was great as well 😊🍷 we also had a fantastic fun group on our bus… such a fun day.

  19. Allan_M

Our driver was delightful and the van was clean and comfortable. Note that it is the better part of a three hour drive each way from Sydney to Hunter Valley. The wineries were good and the cheese stop was delicious. Our only real disappointment was that for lunch and two of three wineries we were indoors. It was a gorgeous day, sunny and low 70’s, and the experience would have been much better if we were set up at the outside tables they had, especially when we were in the van so long.

  20. Aoife_G

Great day, lovely wines and scenery! Great way to see the hunter valley. Lunch is very good and smooth transfers

  21. Nigel_B

It was a long day but very informative especially the visit to Saddlers Creek Wines – the first stop off. Lunch at Oaks Cypress Lakes was very good – beautiful golf course and club house.
Would like to have seen behind the scenes as well as explanation of production.
