The guide, Muhammad, was on time, had a fresh, big boat and was knowledgeable. He made sure we were among the first visitors to the island which was great as it was completely packed with tourists 30 minutes later. No further good water to snorkel in, not as clear as for example outside Mnemba and few fish, but still nice with a swim.

It’s nice to see and feed the turtles (we also caught a couple getting it on which was amusing) and the guide gives you a nice tour of the island and it’s history. Doesn’t really need 3 hours though unless you want to spend time at the restaurant or swim on the island’s beach (we had already eaten and spent the morning at the beach so ended up spending about 45 minutes which was enough).

Great trip over all! Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a ton of information on both the history of the island and the turtles ..! The snorkeling part was not that great. The water was full of urchins so setting down your foot was very risky. Also the boat was quite hard getting in and out of due to a very short ladder.
