Our guide had extensive knowledge of the sights on route to Lucerne and thus was able to provide an interesting commentary. He was well organised and obviously enjoyed what he was doing. The tour itself was full of wonderful experiences which included cablecar, cograil and ferry. The views from the top of Mt Pilatus were spectacular.

This was an amazing day trip! Enjoyed every second even though it rained on our boat ride. Everything leading up to it was excellent! The views were phenomenal and we had an awesome tour guide. The Gondola & Arial tram were amazing. The views are incredible! And the cogswheel train fascinating. The time at the top is adequate and the eateries are plenty. The boat on lake Lucern was very nice. A long day but it didn’t feel rushed.
Only negative was the guide on the way to Lucern never stopped talking and repeated everything in 3 languages. It was extremely loud coming out of the speakers and was very annoying. After Lucern it was much less frequent.

The day started with a drive over the Albis pass with views over Zurich. We stopped at the edge of the Lake at Astrid’s chapel for photo and comfort stop. We had an hour and a half free time in Lucerne -enough time to get photos of the bridge and wander round the old town. The bus parked a few minutes walk from the chapel bridge (some guests joined in Lucerne and some opted for 6 hrs in Lucerne). We met again at 12.30pm and then we travelled to Kriens for a 20-30mins ride in a 4-person cable car. At Frakmuntegg we transferred to a 40-person gondola for the 5-10min trip to the summit of Pilatus. If you are scared of heights this might not be for you. The views from the summit are amazing – a view across the Lake from 2070m and views to the Alps. You can walk up steps to two observation points (wear sensible shoes – the steps are not always level) but the view from the terrace is also stunning. The dragon’s walk is cut through the rock providing “windows” to look out. There is a shop and three restaurants – take out; self service and served; with seats inside and out. We had just over 2 hours here. The weather was great so this worked well; I’m not sure how it would have been if the weather was bad. We then took the cog wheel train down to Alpnachstad which took 30-40mins (it goes 9km/hr). We then caught the boat back to Lucern – the boat had a bar selling snacks, and toilets on board with seating inside and out. It was comfortable and relaxing and took about an hour with a couple of stops, getting back to Lucern at 5.45pm. Our guide Katrin was excellent – very knowledgeable and informative. I found “Best of Switzerland” to be very well organised on this day – very punctual. The ticket kiosk was obvious if you get to the bus station (it’s opposite starbucks)- getting out of the railway station can be disorientating as there are many exits and construction work at the moment; so do allow enough time. An excellent well organised day with amazing views.

We were looking for an alpine experience, and this fit that and was more than we expected. Good to experience the different modes of traveling up and down the mountain, and in the order we did it. Luckily it was a sunny day in October, so we did not need more than a jacket. Good shoes are required for the hikes around the top area, but one can also eat and just enjoy the views.

The views at the top are incredible and the gondolas and cog wheel train are a must have experience for any bucket list! I would highly recommend this tour!

The tour is very nice. However, we had Pilatus and Titles schedule with the same group, and both tours had the same Lucerne morning stop, which is very repetitive. The description of one of them says the they would stop at the Lion Monument, but they never did. So we had extra time in Lucerne doing the same things. A bit disappointing. I wish they would pick a different area of Lucerne to stop or somewhere completely different on the way.

The most memorable part of the trip was the cogwheel train ride to Mt. Pilatus. The view on top of the mountain was also extraordinary. The Alps range from the terrace was a lifetime experience for us.

We have a multi generational group with experienced and inexperienced travelers, but we all agree this was the best part of our trip. Not only was the scenery glorious and ever-changing as happens in the mountains, but we also had little surprises, including a serenade by Alpine horns, and observing a couple of skydivers leap from the summit. I’m not sure if that is common or if we were lucky. The Lake Lucerne boat ride was the perfect ending. Our guide was especially good. She was friendly and knowledgeable and kept us right on schedule. Everything was very well organized and our guide was charming and knowledgeable and patient. I will recommend The Best of Switzerland to others as well as choosing them for my future tours.

The bus unfortunately broke down 10mins from the bus stop, but this was no issue for us, the tour guide and bus driver handled it very well

Our guide was great and provided us with a lot of information about area on the way to Lucerne. She showed us where the entrance the old city was . She made sure everyone got to see the great views at the top of the mountain.

We had a picture perfect day going up the mountain in the cable car. We saw the cows and her their cowbells that was a treat right there. When we got to the very top we could see for miles and miles and miles and I went through the tunnels. It was a great day.

Ana was a great guide. Highly informative throughout the course of our bus ride. Lovely walk around Lucerne, bucket list trip up Mt Pilatus and an extremely relaxing boat ride to conclude the tour. Very convenient and well-organized. Cheers!

The scenic drive from Zurich to Lucerne and then to Mount Pilatus was breathtaking. Mount Pilatus was beautiful and we loved the Dragons Den.
Highly recommend this tour.

Going to the top of Mount Pilatus by cable car with views of the Alps was awesome and we finished with a paddle boat ride on Lake Lucerne so we saw the Alps from a different perspective. Best of Switzerland Tours did a great job.
