We booked this trip last minute for something to do on our cruise stop to Marseille and we are very we did! Prompt pickup from the cruise terminal, only a short drive with a friendly driver to the bike pickup location, then a full day of touring on ebike! The bikes were great, had the perfect amount of power to get you through 20+miles of touring. Our guide was wonderful a d really immersed us in Marseille. From urban areas, shorelines, Forrest, quiet Calanque where we had lunch and admired the views. I would 100% recommend doing this for a cruise stop. You see so much of a place you have only a handful of hours to explore with a local. You should be in somewhat of good physical shape as some of the uphill sections require pedaling even with the max assist, but only a handful of times.

We very much enjoyed our bike tour from Merseille. Our guide was great, very knowledgeable, helpful and careful of the group while managing through traffic. The sites along the way are fantastic. We highly recommend!

This is a must if you are coming to marseille for a couple of days! Excelent way to explore the city, especially the outskirts (Calanques) which you wouldn’t otherwise get to see. The tour guide Cindy was outstanding (she does the tour in spanish, french and english) and knew all the details, made it fun and memorable. In-training tour guide Laura came with us and was also great and fun!

Our guide Cindy was so nice and we had a great group of 9. The trip covered so much we got to see so much of Marseille. The electric bikes were brilliant so easy to use. We stopped at a lovely bakery to pick up lunch. I would recommend this tour 100% highlight of our trip.

Stephan was our guide and he was amazing! He gave us plenty of history and let us design the trip according to how we were feeling. It was a great day…which we definitely should’ve used sun cream for 😂 THANKS STEPHAN!!

Firstly, our guide Eugenie was exceptional. We were 2 of a group of 10, who gelled together as soon as we met, in no small part thanks to Eugenie and her inclusive personality. I would guess I was most nervous in group, I cycle a lot in Dublin mainly in designated city bike lanes, and on different side of road and never on an electric bike. Eugenie and indeed other group members kept an eye on me when in traffic, but luckily we picked unknowingly the 1 day per month when a large part of Marseille is car-free. We saw and learnt so much about Marseille and the trip to Calanques national park was amazing, Eugenie’s love and knowledge of it was joyeous to experience.

Fun trip and great way to see the city. Guide was very knowledgeable and e bikes made the hill climbs easy. Highly recommend.

I was quite happy with this tour and would highly recommend it. It is a great way to see a lot of sights including the cathedral and several scenic overlooks. The bikes do most of the work for you, but you do still need to be in reasonable physical condition to make it up a few steep hills towards the end. You will use bike lanes for the majority of the distance, but you will be driving on city streets close to moving cars for part of it around the city center. The company picked us up right at the cruise terminal and got us back to the cruise terminal on time. Make sure to bring sunscreen and be early to the pickup point. They gave us an option to eat lunch at a restaurant or at the beach. I would recommend having lunch at the beach as it was very nice to enjoy the scenery. All said, I highly recommend this experience!

My wife and I visited Marseille while on a cruise trip for our 10th anniversary. This tour was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. We were a bit nervous about riding bikes around the city and up to the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, but the e-bikes we were given handled the hills like they were nothing, and Laura, our tour guide, did an awesome job of guiding us through the city and to the Calanques. We had some adventures along the way (the locals aren’t always nice to bikers, there can be a lot of traffic, and the chain came off my wife’s bike once), so be ready for that. That said, I never felt unsafe or at risk of getting lost. Laura really did a great job of making sure everyone was accounted for and that we all made it to each destination.
We started the tour from the Fada Bike Tours location in the city. We biked up to a great overlook next to the Palais du Pharo, then continued through the city to the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde. There are some crazy hills to climb to get to the Basilique, but the e-bikes handled it just fine.
From there, we biked back to the coast and continued south along the coastline to the Calanques. Along the way, we stopped at a bakery to grab sandwiches and we had a nice little picnic at a small bay (Anse de la Maronaise). We then hopped back on the bikes and rode back up to Marseille with a little detour in and around Parc Borély before we made it back to the Fada Bike Tours garage.
Our day in Marseille with Laura was a great adventure, and we really enjoyed our visit. I would definitely recommend this to anyone considering a bike tour while in the city! (pro tip: make sure you bring sunscreen, even if it looks cloudy!)

Can’t speak highly enough about this excursion. My wife had a little incident riding and Emanuel went out of his way to help as did our guide Cyndi to make the ride enjoyable and certainly memorable. They were polite, courteous, and communicated well before and during the ride. Emanuel was prompt in picking us up right off the ship and returning us without issue. MANY THANKS, don’t hesitate to consider this for a great Marseille experience.

Tour was to meet at 10 am and take off shortly thereafter, however we were after 11 before we left as guide insisted on waiting for late couples. Our guide turned out to be new (3 days on the job); got lost going to cafe for lunch stop; was often too far in front of some members of the group. We had another couple added to our group at Norte Dame and had to wait again for them. When we finally made it to the Calanques he did not forewarn us that terrain was becoming difficult with loose gravel in many sections of the path. Unfortunately one lady wiped out coming down a hill and cut her knee so badly an ambulance had to be called.
We rushed back after only one stop in the Calanques. Minimal history / commentary on anything. Type of tour that quality of your guide probably dictates your enjoyment of the day…unfortunately not a good day for us.
Calanques were beautiful; would have enjoyed seeing more of them.

We had an amazing day out during our bike tour to the Calanques. Iris was an excellent guide and the bikes were a breeze to operate. A highlight of our trip to Marseille for sure. Would highly recommend this tour.

The bikes were well maintained and worked so well on steeps. There are side compartments where you can place a small backpack, towel, bathing suit and water bottle.
Our tour guide was knowledgeable but did seem annoyed with the group at times for not following her. Please consider that some are not use to riding 2 inches from cars.
I wish the information provided was more in depth. The first story about the Romans was great! More of this please.
This was a nice way to get a lay of the land and would recommend.

Caspar was great, we covered a lot of the island. He was very informative, went for a swim, beautiful views and a nice lunch at a sweet bistro in a little town.
You should be a experienced biker, there is some weaving in and out of traffic.
    Overall so much fun.

Had an excellent tour! Iris was a great guide and the destinations were beautiful. I enjoy a bit of adrenaline with my cycling, so biking in traffic was okay for me.

  17. Casey_H

Would definately recommend this tour! Our guide Raphel was very lovely, she told us about so much history and gave amazing recommendations for places to check out in marseille. The bikes are very easy to use !

  18. STEVE_H

A brilliant experience with our fantastic guide, Iris. A great group of people made it a great trip. The bikes were superb and we saw loads of Marseille

  19. Carrie_L

Absolutely amazing experience! Although it was a hot day, the breeze and the movement of air because of the bikes made it very comfortable! Very fun, educational, fantastic views. Both the adults and the teens on this experience loved it.

  20. David_T

Fun bike ride. Sly was a good guide and made the trip a lot of fun. Lunch was delicious and we made some friends from our ship. For those wondering it was about a 25 mile ride but the electric bikes made it very manageable for all riders in our group.

First of all, this tour was a lovely way to see Marseille. We opted for the full day tour. However, I caution those who are not comfortable on a bicycle. Most of the tour was along narrow and busy city streets. While drivers do look out for the bicycles, they often get very close. That being said, we LOVED this tour and my teenage daughters (14 and 19) say it was the best tour they have ever been on. I don’t think I would have wanted my child any younger than that to do this tour. Cindy was amazing. She was knowledgeable and kind. She took us to the national park and found a breathtaking view for us to have our picnic lunch. I would highly recommend it as long as you are comfortable biking on busy streets.
