I would highly recommend Johann as a guide. He is passionate and knowledgeable about his tour. He comes prepared if anything were to happen (air pump, first aid kit, etc), is very easy going, and really good at taking pics for you! Our group got a little hungry at Portobello beach and we stopped for some crisps. Johann even suggested a great pub after the tour. This experience is worth it if you want to experience Edinburgh in a different and fun way. I was nervous about going up hill at Arthur’s seat, but with an e bike it was very easy. Can’t wait to visit Scotland again and take another one of his tours.

We loved riding through several bike paths, smelling wild growing garlic, riding up to see Arthur’s seat, cruising along the beach all while learning more about the history of Edinburgh.
If you are unsure, pay the extra for the electric bike. It made the experience better by being able to ride and have assistance when needed.
Absolutely incredible scenes and photography opportunities with sis to learn about fun and unique places you wouldn’t find on your own.

Johann was an amazing tour guide. His knowledge of Edinburgh was outstanding! We went about 18 miles on electric bikes and even with the hills it was fairly easy (I was 5 months pregnant when I did it). He pointed out so many historical landmarks and knew the stories behind all of them. He was also very accommodating, we stopped to check out an old graveyard simply because one of the other people we were with on the tour wanted to see it. 100% recommend to everyone, especially tourists such as myself and my husband (both first timers in Scotland).

Easy to do on an e-bike, we covered so many parts of Edinburgh that we never would’ve been able to see without bikes. The history and facts about our brief stops were interesting and not boring at all! Getting fresh air and exercise was a bonus! Johann was a perfect guide and he was very attentive. We felt safe and capable. I’d do it again in a second!

10/10 would recommend! My partner and I like to keep active on o or holidays and this was perfect. Our tour guide was excellent, it is his own personal business so he definitely cares and puts in the effort which is nice unlike some to ur guides who work for a large business. Very professional being picked up from our hotel room. We had a group of 8 and it was awesome to meet / ride with others. 4 hours is perfect, any longer and your bum would start to become a bit irritated from the seat. Bikes were in excellent condition! I did the E-bike – VERY DOABLE!! I suggest doing the E-bike as you can always turn off your electronic booster and use it as a manual. The ride is quite lengthy and there are challenging parts, the E-bike made it a breeze! I was nervous riding on the road at times but our guide made me feel very comfortable. He had sound knowledge of the town (being from the area) and we had stops along the way. Public toilet stops multiple times which were great and also he brought snacks mid way. The sites were unbelievable – so nice and easy to explore by bike. Lots of bike paths and easy to navigate even with a group of 8 that we had. Would highly recommend!!!

Cannot say enough about Johann..not only was he VERY communicative about the meet place (since we were not staying in Edinburgh)..he was an excellent instructor in first time E-Bike!! Did I mention, a flat tire aficionado! OOPS, husband had a flat and he fixed the tire as he was describing one of the “stops” we made!! My husband and I booked this bicycle trip with Johan and it was fabulous. There were six in our group and everyone had rented an E bike. Johan took us to so many wonderful places we would have never seen around Edinburgh, and gave us a better appreciation of the entire city. In addition, we went down to the water to see the port towns. Most of the trip was on uncrowded bike trails through beautiful areas and he always made sure everyone was safe. There was plenty of stopping to discuss sites along the way. He was extremely knowledgeable as to the history of the sites and I would highly recommend this tour.

Totally worth it. My partner and I took our 21 year old nephew and had a fantastic ride. The e-bikes were quite nice, so you could ride them with as much or as little assist as you needed. Our group had a nice mix of interesting and fun people. Johann gave just the right amount of history and context to what we were seeing. He was attentive to needs – lending a wind breaker, providing water and an on the spot tune up! Also was happy to answer questions and share tips. You won’t regret it!
