Port Arthur
Port Arthur is a historic site and former penal colony located on the Tasman Peninsula in southeastern Tasmania, Australia. It was established in 1830 as a timber station but was later converted into a prison for repeat offenders and those who had committed serious crimes. The prison was known for its harsh conditions and brutal punishment, and today the ruins of the prison are a popular tourist attraction and a World Heritage-listed site. Visitors can explore the ruins of the prison, learn about its history, and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape and coastline.
