Amazing balloon ride on Sunday. What a fantastic experience! Very professional from start to finish. Our driver was so courteous and informative, throwing in some ‘off roading’ as we hit the desert. Our pilot Captain Basheer was just fabulous too, keeping us informed and checking throughout that everyone was ok. We felt safe the whole time. The scenery and the sun rise were stunning and the slightly bumpy landing just added to the enjoyment. Fully recommend.

Great experience with the balloon ride. Was organized and on time. Not much conversation with the driver or any explanation from him, but all relevant information was given by the pilot. Bathrooms were filthy.

A breathtaking flight offset by a very rough and unsafe landing. I would have given the tour a 5 star had it not been the safety concerns. There were two landings – the first was unsuccessful and we had to re-lived the horror through a second one. The second landing was equally rough resulting in personal belongings damaged or falling off and some passengers (including me) with minor injuries. Some recommendations to the tour operator:
1) Please review the age limit for children. A young child was crying in horror after the first landing.
2) Provide a comprehensive safety briefing. If this is not possible on-site due to time constrains, then at least a comprehensive email on safety along with diagrams etc. There was zero demonstration on landing procedures apart from cursory overview on the possible landing scenarios. The tour operator should also inform passengers to safekeep our belongings at landing and wear appropriate clothings to reduce risk of lacerations.
3) Limited concern was shown to the passengers after the landings. I am not saying that the tour operator needs to accept responsibility but the pilot needs to show concern and offer assistance. This is an area where additional training is needed. I am not able to comment on the pilot’s skill of as this is my first balloon ride, but willing to give the benefit of doubt in view of the high wind speed.
4) Finally, if the tour is considered a higher risk activity, then both tour operator and platform (Trip adviser/Viator) needs to highlight this clearly before confirming the trip and perhaps advise participants to take up insurance. Participants cannot be made to sign a disclaimer form on-site 10 minutes before the flight. Noone will appreciate the risk at that time !
Overall a breathtaking but ultimately traumatic first balloon experience.
