When you go there make sure to wait for the fountain display to start so you have a view of it from above. It starts every 30 minutes and is accompanied by music so when the music starts you will know that the display has started.

This was such a waste of a day and money! Not only was 3 hours wasted queueing to get tickets, the walking round to get to each place was crazy. I thought the aquarium was in the burj khalifa but it was in the maze of what is the mall. You have to collect tickets from the mall at the top ticket desk which took hours as you messed up our tickets. Then we had to find the aquarium. We then had to queue here again which was another hour! Thinking we were in aquarium you are taken through a photo area 1st, the aquarium is up a level in the mall, another long walk in the maze. Once in it really is disappointing, and we were totally shocked to see 2 crocodiles in a very small tank, this should not be allowed! The rest of the trip consisted of yet more walking to try and get to burj khalifa, a lift and an amazing view, then back into the maze to try and find way out to get a taxi. It an experience I would ever recommend or want to do again.

The very very long wait. People waiting to buy ticket on the day, people waiting to receive their ticket on the day and people already with ticket to enter all queued on the same very long queue when the front where you buy and receive ticket is totally empty. Nothing they could do about the queue but separating the people from the start would have helped instead of waiting on a line when the ticket points are all empty till you get to the front.

Huge lines – had to wait nearly an hour to get in the lift up and another hour to get down. People were crammed in the lift like animals. All you get for the effort is to click some unclear pics in very hot weather with 100s of people jostling for space. The underwater aquarium is a tunnel 50m, so not really worth it unless you have kids

Aquarium – it’s good but probably appreciated more if you have children. Personally, I think standing in the Mall you can see what you NEED to see. If you WANT to see more, then yes, buy a ticket.
The online tickets purchase is a bit confusing. The online voucher says you have to swap the voucher for a ticket but it gives an address which my husband and I found difficult to find. In the end, it turns out you simply take your online voucher to the main ticket desk in the Mall and they swap it for the ticket. You can swap it early, go to the Aquarium whenever you want ( that day) and then return at your allotted time for the Burj. Afterwards, head outside for the fountain show

Our driver was fantastic and full of great information! The best part of The Top was the view, of course! Be prepared to walk a lot, though, and see the city from miles in the sky! The aquarium and underwater zoo was also excellent. Have been a few times and they always have new exhibits! Love seeing the critters.

We booked a transfer from our hotel to Dubai Mall, our driver was on time and really friendly. I would highly recommend visiting the Burj Khalifa, this is value for money however I wouldn’t say the same about the Dubai Aquarium… The staff weren’t helpful which already put a downer on the experience, it was very cramped and you either had to wait a while to see the underwater zoo or skips parts, it wasn’t explained that we wouldn’t be able to see the sharks so that wasn’t ideal either. The Burj Khalifa and the whole experience from start to finish was memorising, I really enjoy this part of the trip. More information about the Dubai Aquarium would be helpful next time and issuing a QR code for tickets might work better as we struggled to get our tickets and at first was denied entrance to the Dubai Aquarium because of this! Tips for travellers would be to spend the afternoon enjoying the sights and stick around for the fountain light show in the evening!

We went early, 11am, to avoid the lines. I’m sure it’s more magical at night, but I hate waiting in lines. I would say there is no need to pay for the combo because you can see the big, amazing sea creatures in the mall for free. Unless you’re interested in otters and turtles, skip the combo and only pay for the Burj Khalifa only.
