To start off, the Ayuttaya sites that we went to were absolutely amazing on its own. However, the issues that we ran into were with the tour operators themselves and the entirety of the trip – I won’t name their names publicly.
First off, 4 out of the 9 people on our tour either spoke Thai fluently or enough to understand it. The tour operators started gossiping about the family behind us, and that family had no clue that they were, so it’s just very awkward and unprofessional. All because they couldn’t find something they wanted to eat at the restaurant that the tour operators selected for us. Whether they understand Thai or not, it’s a shame on them to be disrespecting them right in front of them, calling them foreigner this, foreigner that, just based off of their food preferences.
Then, after we left our first palace, the driver got frustrated that we were behind schedule and started complaining that he wanted to go back. So then, at every temple we went to after that, the entire tour group was getting yelled at to move faster, be more active, to hurry – meanwhile, we had people who were older and injured. I mean we did had an unplanned restroom break that maybe detoured us 10 minutes, but thats not enough to start rushing people or yelling at people – just cut the time shorter at one of the temples or something. Based off of our experience, nothing was time sensitive since they were just buying the tickets at the gate when we showed up. On Viator, the tour says that it lasts 9 hours and 40 minutes, but we got picked up at 8:00AM and dropped off at 4:00PM, which the time itself is not the issue – but if it really was 9 and a half hours, then not sure why we’re being rushed through every site.
Lastly, the tour guide insisted that she take pictures on her phone and for us to write this review so she could send it to us on Whatsapp after…but we’re up to 12 hours after the tour now and my assumption is that we won’t see those photos after leaving this review.
Being Thai, it’s a shame to tourists who come here to enjoy this country just to be disrespected or shown a bad time. Again, the sites were amazing and would absolutely recommend the sites themselves and maybe it was just the tour guides we had, but they turned it into a horrible experience.

Coconut was the best guide I’ve had in Thailand, the tour is well organized and you get to see the monuments at your pace. Also it helps a lot to be on a van because of the extreme heat at Ayutthaya. Definitely recommend this tour!

Bell was a wonderful, patient and kind guide- it was a fabulous trip! He took the time to confirm everything the night before, and was very accomodating during the tour.
Gonzalo_M –
Bell was very kind and helpful and explained everything very well. The tour is organised really well and you get to see several temples throughout the day

Everything that we saw was great and very educational! The guide was a bit intense and more information on dress code would have been good. We ended up having to buy flowy pants because long tights were not accepted.

We had a private tour for my family of three. Pick up at our hotel was prompt. The air-conditioned van was good. Our guide was very knowledgable and personable. It was very, very hot and there was a lot of walking so be prepared for that on this trip.

The tour at Ayutthaya was really good value. Pick up was on time and the tour guide was knowledgeable. Would recommend.

Had a great tour with Niranya, she was really funny and shared a lot of person stories that gave us an insight into the thai culture. She was really informative and also helped us take the sky metro after the tour was over, we are very grateful to have had her as our guide.

Great to meet Tripguru again
Tour guide able to tell us the sophistication of Ayutthaya
Arrangements of lunch is good as well

Lots of temples with interesting ruins. Summer palace is interesting too but only outside visit is allowed; no glimpse of the royal lifestyle from inside – that is one drawback. Also coming back via a boat on the river would be a good experience (avoids evening traffic too)

Small group tour was great. Met Angie at the BTS spot and we left promptly. Angie gave lots of information on Thai history and culture during the drive up to the sites. She accompanied us throughout the sites to impart more info and took a lot of pictures of us which was unexpected and appreciated. Good communication throughout the process, good return time to Bangkok. Make sure you dress appropriately, leggings not allowed, lunch stop was decent.

The guide on the day was absolutely amazing, knowledgeable and funny. Believe her name was Nuch and driver Mr Un. Brilliant experience of the temples

Our tour guide Jin was very interesting and friendly. She provided lots of informations during the tour and contributed to make this a great trip to Ayutthaya.

The guide was well informed, had very good sense of timing and was entertaining. Whilst the weather was hot we were able to engage with some wonderful examples of Thai craftsmanship, historically significant sites and the sensitivities of the Buddhist religion. A wonderful day immersed in history, architecture and religion.

The vans were extremely comfortable, and it was a small group (I think maybe 8 people TOP per tour guide). The tour guide was very friendly and was sure to communicate vital information. She was also very flexible to the groups needs, which was MUCH appreciated.
I would have liked the tour to be a bit more involved (i.e. give more information about each site we visited). We got a little bit of information and were then sent free to wander around the site. The free time is certainly nice.

not uploading too many photos but our tripguru tour guide p. nuch (suntaree) was experienced, flexible, funny, knew a lot about history, and was generous enough to share her own opinions about buddhism and the state of agriculture in the country. our group got along well and our tour driver p. odd was also reliable. i highly recommend!

It was an amazing tour, Pinporn (Angie) was a very enthusiastic tour guide and we loved her dedication and fantastic energy. My parents and I had a great time seeing various cultural spots on the tour and learning about Thai history. Definitely recommend this experience!

A must experience when in Bangkok. You will first experience the summer palace, and then go on to the tempels A nice variety with the first destinations, but I honestly flet like the 3 last destinations were different places in the excact same style. If you feel you have had enough, you can ask the guide to cut out the last stop.

Excellent tour with a Spanish speaking guide! Our guide Paola was great, her Spanish was excellent and she made this tour very interesting. Lots to see and definitely recommend to get a different view of the Temples. We originally had one tour scheduled and Paola shared details of a night option tour which we had not thought of and greatly enjoyed! She answered all of our questions and made both tours so much fun!
