Our guide Haley was incredibly personable and knowledgeable of the local Vancouver food scene. Very much enjoyed the diversity of foods we sampled on our tour. And I never thought I’d eat a Scotch egg but did so and very much enjoyed it!
Dana_B –
Had a great afternoon of food and walking tour of Vancouver. Alli our guide made it a relaxed, fun few hours with a group from all over the world. Variety of food that didn’t disappoint.

My feelings are mixed about this experience. I personally enjoyed all of the food, although some of it did not live up to the tour guides hype.
We had sandwiches, which the restaurant ran out of what we were supposed to have so the whole group did not get to try the pork sandwich. I did not not think the pork lived up to the hype but my husband loved it.
I surprisingly loved the vegan restaurant. That was my favorite. My husband and daughter wouldn’t try it and my other daughter thought it was okay.
The sushi was good but overhyped. I’ve had equally good and better.
Our tour guide was okay. He was nice and friendly, but I thought there would be more historical context provided to the city and more of a walking tour in between spots. He walked too quickly for some of the guests including someone who was injured. tour guide appeared annoyed when people in our group would not eat something or that my husband can’t eat mayo.
There was no maple syrup tasting or organic ice cream, as listed. My one daughter ate about 3 bites the entire time at $100 a head.
Some restaurants seemed unprepared for the size of our group and we are our sushi standing up outside the restaurant because they wouldn’t let us in. The tour guide was unprepared for where we should go.
Overall, I would do it again, but only bring the more adventurous eaters. I don’t think it lived up to the cost or the tour guides hype, but I enjoyed the food and found places I might never have eaten. I might try a different tour company. The people we were with were very nice.

We went to a bunch of places that I never would have found (or thought of trying) without this tour. I was stuffed by the end!
Ola_D –
Unfortunately Jeremy was a really poor guide, he had very little stories about Gastown, mostly focused on how much things cost and where to get cheap beer, his only story about the steam clock was that it was build to be a tourist trap and that he none of his groups can ever guess the age of the clock correctly; the restaurants we visited were ok, but nothing special, we had to wait in every restaurant to be served food, very limited variety of the foods we tried – at the sushi place we literally had 1 roll of sushi – 2 pieces of the same kind a person lol As a person that has already taken other food and history tours of the area, this is by far the most underwhelming experience I ever had, which was mostly due to the guide
Lysa_S –
Our Guide was very knowledgeable and a great story teller giving away the best kept secrets of Gastown. The food options were great and they also pointed out other places which I was able to try out later on during my trip. Although it was a walking tour it was very doable as we had stops along the way where we sat down together to eat. I would recommend this tour at the start of your trip as you get to know the area around really well.
Craig_J –
Great tour and an excellent host made this a memorable, fun experience!
The food was varied and delicious.

I enjoyed this food tour much. After this I have visited the restaurants. I can recommend it to all visitors of Vancouver.

Plenty of food and a really good range. Local knowledge was great and lots of interesting stories. We have done many viator food tours and can really recommend.
Pamela_R –
The porchetta sandwiches were to die for, and the other tastings were very good as well, although the maple candy was less than memorable and could be replaced with something more interesting. This was our third Secret Food tour and was different in that portions were bigger rather than bites, so we got full too fast! Gabby was an awesome guide-very knowledgeable and a pleasure to tour with.
Note some of the Viator description on locations is inaccurate and should be updated.

Great food samples at places I would not have tried. Ali and Anna were gracious and informative. Ali was energetic and engaged us as we walked from restaurant to restaurant.
Thank you for another great food tour! We’ve done one in Lucerne (Switzerland), San Francisco (California), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Quito (Ecuador).
Melanie_W –
Small group which was great. Our guide was awesome! Due to the holiday some places were closed but he still was able to take us to some amazing secret spots with delicious food!
Anna_P –
Hosts were informative, accommodating, and a lot of fun. And the great foods along the way was icing on the cake!
Thank you!!!

The food were good. Our guide has a lot to learn, but was kind and knowledgeable. Room for improvement would be learning to throw your voice so people can hear you, know your audience. Be able to pivot if things change or something is wrong or off. Example we were all early and it threw him. Read the notes before pick up and explain how the food comes. My husband is allergic to pork, and we knew there was a place with pork and that was fine. We he asked if we wanted something different and my husband agreed to a chicken sandwich instead of the pork. Sadly I don’t eat poultry. So we were no better off because it wasn’t explained that the items were split. Once we understood we were able to adjust accordingly. Learning about the district and having some incredible food was great. He did take a photo of all of us and said he was going to email it to us. I have yet to see it:(. He was a nice young man and I think will get it in the end. Again the food was great and the people on the tour were as well.
AnaLiza_Q –
Gaby was our guide and she lead a group of 7 of us to 5 different stops; each one delicious and provided history about Gastown and the neighborhood. There was a surprise stop and surprise dessert. I left meeting friendly people, was so full for hours after, was able to walk around and go back to some places on my own. This is very well worth it. It was fun, a great way to experience a new city and the food choices were outstanding.
Eva_V –

A fun and filling walk around Gastown with a great guide and group!
One of the first food tours that I ever got a fully satisfied appetite, too!
Marion_L –
The food tour was top notch. All the places we tried were very delicious. Our guide Landon was very knowledgeable about each local food stop as well as the history of the surrounding areas in Gastown and Vancouver business developments. Landon was great – would recommend this food tour to my friends and family. Worth the time, money and gave us some yummy food in the area. Our three hour tour went so fast and the food amounts were very filling! Plan to be very hungry.
KM_K –
Landon was a great guide! Vancouver had unseasonably cold weather and many of the intended stops were closed.
Landon did a great job problem solving.
