   Overall cool experience! We did this after seeing all the temples the day before, so it was neat to see all the places we had been from the air.
   Don’t expect to get there at the time you choose. The tour picked us up at 5:30am and then we waited around for about 2 hours before ever going in the air.
   The only thing we didn’t care for was the tour organizers expect tips for doing nothing, after we paid a lot of money for the tour to begin with. Once you get off the balloon there are kids trying to sell you things. It’s non-stop. They do a video of the hot air balloon ride and want to sell it to you for $20-30. And the “flight certificate” they give you is really stupid. Nobody wants that, save some trees!!!

   We booked a ballon ride at 4:30 to assure that we take off at sunrise. On viator there was still possible to book this time slot. Later they said they don’t have place any more so we went at 6 o’clock (you can get this time slot for much cheaper). As we talk to other turists, they said the same thing. So it is a systemic problem by this company and they are not prepared to change it. On Viator you can’t get the money back if it is 24 hours before the activity. So we didn’t have possibility to cancel it. I can’t recommend to book it here.

   Trip was well organised, with pick up from hotel, transfer across the Nile on boats and van to the balloons. We felt comfortable that the balloon crew were capable and in control.
   We were only in the air for a bare half hour and pretty much just hovered over the cultivated land between the Nile and the sand hills / tombs. Some rides go for longer and go over the Valley of the Kings and tombs, but they are a bit more expensive. I think this trip was still a great experience.
   The disappointing thing was that we booked for a 4.30 am pick up, to be up in the air in time to see the sunrise. But when contacted by the provider they advised pick up time would be 5.45 am, so too late to see the sunrise. Several other people we spoke to had the same experience. If the 4.30 am time is full, it should not be bookable online anymore, to avoid disappointment.
   I’ve read and heard that some people have experienced disorganisation and delays with the pick up from the hotel and transport to the balloon site, but we didn’t have any problem with this, it was quite smooth.

   i booked the 4:30 am sunrise tour Nour told me that pick up will be at 6:10 due to it being winter, the next morning as we waited we could see hot air baloons in the sky from our accommodation,we waited no one came to pick us up and her phone was of no messages went through or calls , after 2 hours I hot hold of someone else at Egypt tours who send someone to come fetch ad after waiting another hour already 3 hours have passed since our original pick up time , got to the hot air balloon ride just to be told it was canceled we were send back other people complained about the same thing booking a 4:30 trip and also not being picked up and now the trip got cancelled we were told we will get a full refund, but now I am being told I will not get a refund by Visitor and its been almost 2 weeks.
   Will not recommend Viator or Egypt tours to anyone

   I should have read the reviews before booking this. same thing happened to me as what others have reported, I booked a sunrise trip but was later contacted by the organiser that I would only get picked up from my hotel at 6.15am. Waited another half an hour for other participants to arrive. Another long wait in the van and our balloon took off at around 7.45am which was 1.5 hours after sunrise with the sun already high up above the horizon.

   Sad and upsetting. DO NOT PAY THE 15 US DOLLARS CASH FOR THE RECORDED VIDEO of the tour. They promise to email you a link to the video but never sent it to me despite over 25 follow up requests directly with vendor and with viator. The balloon ride was fine but stealing our money at the end was not. I took this trip in December 2022 so they had plenty of time to fix this issue before I wrote this review. Shame on them. 15 US dollars is a huge amount of money in Egypt. Sad Viator would allow this to happen. Also be ware that Viator just ignores you when there is an issue and there is no way to seek recourse. Keep that in mind when booking.

    They canceled the balloon tour on 30th March saying bad weather.. and they said they rescheduled it on 31st March yet we did not get any confirmation..
    I received a message from the tour operator saying the balloon tour canceled again..
    We tried to contact them million times but they did not answer the phone calls.
    I received just one message saying they will initiate the refund the 98$ i paid. However they still did not refund the money or reply to my messages..
    I do not recommend this company for anyone.. Looks like they charge the money then cancel the tours and avoid refunding the money..

    These people are a SCAM. We booked a balloon tour for sunrise April 21st. They did NOT come and pick us up at the hotel as stated they would in the confirmation. We asked for a refund and they did not give it to us. We are working with Vialtor and our bank because these people did NOT refund our money for a trip we did not receive.

    Horrible organization. We made sure that we would be in the balloon during sunset over text and via call. It was promised. However when we were picked up we had to wait a long time on the boat to transfer us. Also it was said to include breakfast but this is just ridiculous as you get a twinkie and tea, that’s it. In the end we saw the sunset while still at the boat for already 1 hour. Then on the other side we waited for another hour in a car to take us to the location of the balloons. When asking why we are waiting and saying we booked a sunset trip it was told not to be their problem and that we were apparently the second group that goes after sunset. We were very upset, hungry and dissapointed.
    Do not book with this organization if you want a smooth balloon trip during sunset. If you do be prepared for a lot of waiting and bring your own breakfast!
    Although the balloon ride itself was an amazing experience the organization was just absolutely ridiculous .

    I booked an early morning trip to see the valley of the kings lit up by the lighting, and to see the sunrise over the west bank BUT the company put the pickup back over 2 hours to 5:20 am meaning we just had a daytime balloon ride.
    The conditions were perfect all night and into the morning, as I saw many other balloons going up.
    This was a massive disappointment for me and my son 🙁🤨😡 and the company offered no reason or apology.
    To cap it all off the wind blew us away from the valley of the kings, so we didn’t actually see them at all 🤷🏻
    Why would I recommend that????

    After booking, i kept waiting, first day informed me about cancelling the trip, next day i keept asking them if there will be ride or not. In reply theykept asking me about my passport, i sent them three times and then they asked me my passport number, still tgey didn’t answer my question, finally I cancelled my booking and now waiting for refunds.

    This was the best experience we had during our tour of Egypt! The tour guides were so helpful and friendly! We opted for the additional video and photo package for only $15! Everyone who is in Luxor should experience this!!
