We enjoyed this a lot. Lorena was a great guide. Due to the May 1 holiday, a lot of stores and restaurants were closed, so Lorena had to improvise and did so nicely. We ate many Turkish foods we otherwise would not have tried. We also saw parts of the city that we might have missed if not for her. We also had to deal with rain, and Lorena kept us dry. She made tinge very best of a difficult situation. We’re so glad we did this tour.

Booked this tour from Viator in Istanbul. We had to cancel because the supplier changed the start time 3 times. On arrival to the meeting point we noted massive presence of riot police, soldiers, barracked street, bag searches, armored vehicles with many stores closed. We were scared and felt to be in harm’s way. We informed the supplier (Ahmad?) that we felt unsafe and wanted to cancelled. We refused the supplier’s offer to change the venue and time again to a different part of the city because we were in a foreign country and possible paramilitary presence/actions elsewhere as well. The supplier then texted it is our problem and will charge us regardless of our safety concerns. The tour itself may be good, but the supplier of this tour is certainly not and willing to put money over safety.
