Our guide brought us to several food stalls in Bukit Bintang, an area of the city where locals eat, showed us the best of the area. He was not prepared to deal with vegetarians, but we got to taste durian instead!

  2. Mark H

Guide was less than enthusiastic, food was nothing to write home about, may appeal to some but not to everyone.

This tour was amazing. Our guide Ramesh was so knowledgeable and took the time to show us around our local area. He also recommended additional activities on the conclusion of our tour.
    Highly recommend

This by far a disappointment. We were 11 pax in our group At an average of 70 MYR a person I would have expected a meal as part of the food tour. But instead apart from a a few tit bits that he bought us our guide made us buy our dinner He though was a jovial and affable person

This was a fantastic tour through the Alor Night Market. Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Malaysia and its culinary style.

Tour guide was informative and got to try a variety of delicious foods, however I found the quantity of food was a little lacking considering the cost of the tour.

We thoroughly enjoy this tour. We tasted food we had never had before. Learned some local culture. Tk is a wealth of knowledge on local food. Such a lovely young man. Would recommend this tour to everyone

Very bad tour. The guide would not even buy a water for us. DO NOT GET THIS TOUR EVER. WASTED OF YOUR MONEY. Our guide was a freelancer and probably saved money for him. he did not buy enough food to even try for all 5 of us. The worst tour guide and company. Hence 0 stars but I have to select at least one start for my review to be posted or I will give 0 stars.

We were met by staff on given time and place. He welcomed us, walked us to food street which was very close and busy area. He asked as what is our expectation from tour and we told him to learn about local food. But we found out that most of restaurants were selling Chinese food. few were local as well.
We didn’t enjoy the tour as the knowledge shared with us was about food presentation and eating cultures while our intention was to learn how Malay people prepare their food mainly how they cook. We were not taken to any kitchen where cooking could be seen closely.
The tour guide also told us that we selected the wrong tout but actually this tour is supposed to be about Malay food as the name says.
The worst part was that tour started at 6pm and finished at 7.20 while it was supposed to be two hours. We were offered to taste three samples from street vendors.
I booked the tour with two children 11 and 15. Not enjoyed at all. Not recommended if you want to learn about Malaysian food.

In a short time got a good idea about the food in Kuala Lumpur. Tried several foods that I would have experienced without going on tour. The outside food markets were a lot of fun

After we met the guide we went to a food court in a mall where we had first meal. Then we walked along one street with food and finally we to an Indian restaurant where we had just a dessert. The tasting was always just a small piece of food. Nothing special. We learned bits of information but not much. We were not able to taste typical dish which you read about in travel guides. If you go directly to Jalan Alor without a guide you do no mistake and can taste by yourself selecting from menu knowing names of food from travel guide books. It was not worth the money at all.

It’s luck of the draw with guides but we drew well with Siddoz. He knew all the back alleyways and fun food stalls and sprinkled in the right amount of other info.

Amazing food tour! Reka was our guide. She is a super kind and accommodating person, who took the time to walk us around and explain to us how to do street food in KL! She took us to the best spots to have authentic food – you will want to go back 💕. She also gave us great tips and recommendations around the city. We had such a pleasant night with her! We are so glad we took this tour. Thank you.

This was a really good way to find the hidden gems and local culinary delights. Not everything was a hit from the six dishes as we walked through the busy streets, but there was plenty to enjoy nonetheless. Our guide Siddoz was amazing, really knowledgeable about the food, the city and the country!

A great evening, knowledgeable guide, some great food. An extremely interesting couple of hours spent visiting some of those out of the way food vendors, the egg burger was a knockout!!!

This was a waste of time and money, 5 different things including a burger and 3 snacks. We expected to sample a number of different foods but were disappointed to only have 3 and then a big burger and roti. The host Ragesh was very pleasant and very knowledgeable but no sooner had we started than we were finished in a back street, left to find our way back to a known area.

Ramesh was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had lots of lovely food and he taught us a lot about the various dishes

Reka was such a great host by sharing so many great dishes from her home country. She even went above and beyond adding in a few additional places so we could sample more local fare. You can tell she really loves what she does by how excited she was to show us the various dishes from Malaysia. Highly recommend taking this food tour, you will not be disappointed.

This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Reka was one of the best guides you could hope for. Very warm, friendly, and super knowledgeable about Malaysia’s history and it’s diverse culture. You could really tell that she was focused on making sure that her guests have the best experience possible by tailoring everything to their needs. The food selections were absolutely delicious–you will not be disappointed (my recommendation would be to skip lunch so that you have more room for all the tastings)!

We thoroughly enjoyed, stopping at numerous venues with an array of different choices. We were getting ready to go to our final destination, when a torrential downpour started. Our guide was able to get us into a nearby hotel. He assisted and waited until we were able to procure a ride to our hotel. Thanks
