Michael and Melissa were great! They were both incredibly knowledgeable on Sicily’s culinary history and how each culture influenced modern day eating. Michael made sure to contact us the day before with the menu and to confirm any dietary restrictions we had. Descriptions to the pick up area were easy to understand and the walk through the street market to gather the ingredients was a great way to start the lesson. The lesson itself was well organized and efficient. Michael and Melissa made sure to clearly explain all of the steps and why each ingredient was important to the overall dish. Of course, the dinner was incredible. Highly recommend this experience for someone who wants to learn Sicily’s diverse culinary cultural influences.

Michael was fantantic throughout the experience. We met him in Palermo and he started the tour off going through the local market and buying all the fish and produce we cooked for the course with really good insight.
We made fresh pasta, swordfish, panelle, and a dessert. We toured Italy for 30 days and the pasta was in our top 3 dishes of our entire trip, we’re so happy we have the recipy and the know-how to create it at home now. I’d recommend this to any home cook and beginner. Michael was very patient and gave everyone a chance to learn and do specific jobs to prep.

We had an amazing experience with Michael, Melissa, and the group. The group was small which made it feel more personalized. We visited the Market Il Capo, and learned about local produce, where to buy some of the best Arancine, cheese, and greens. Michael bought some of the produce we were going to use in the recipes. The house where the cooking school is located is beautiful. Spacious, and nicely decorated. The cooking experience was great, Michael and Melissa were patient with everyone and explained everything. We got some great tips on some basics of Sicilian and Italian cooking. After cooking we all had lunch and wine together and the food came out very good! Overall a great experience, recommended 100%. His communication skills are excellent for both italian and english speakers since he is irish. The dishes were masterfully planned even if they appeared simple, which is sicilian cooking.
