Disclaimer: we did not go on this tour, Giorgia texted me on the day of the tour with sad news that our guide cancelled last minute. She offered us 2 options to reschedule to the next day or go on the Trastevere food tour WHICH WAS AMAZING! So happy we did it. Alina was our guide and she was absolutely incredible- so nice, bubbly, personable, and knowledgeable. The tour was small and the food and wine were all phenomenal. I wish everyone could go on this tour! All the stars to the entire team!

This was not a tour of great Italian food. It did not include an entrance to a pizza restaurant as advertised.
We arrived at a tiny cafe and serves food that came out of fridges pre-plated with dried up rocket lettuce.
After being patronised by the guide Georgia asking what was your favourite this and that. She extended this starter to one hour.
She then collected 3 bottles of average red wine, a pile of plastic cups and asked people to carry them. We arrived at a takeaway pizza bar ((not even a shop) and we were expected to eat pre-cooked, re-heated pizza from a cardboard box and red wine from the plastic cups. At this point we left.
Anyone that thinks this is worth more than £110 per person is dillusional and assume no one from Viator has ever visited this tour

Someone contacted me to ask if we could meet in Trastevere for the tour instead of the Prati district which was fine with us. Carson was an excellent guide. He was full of interesting information and was very attentive and kind. We went to four different places and ended up extremely full! There was a meat and cheese course that included truffles and aged balsamic vinegar for the cheese. Next we had warm triangular sandwiches/pizzas; then we had our choice among three kinds of pasta and two kinds of pizza. All courses included plenty of good wine. Finally, we ended the night with gelato. We loved meeting all of the different people on the tour. We learned so much from Carson and also had time to talk with others. Carson made sure everyone knew had to get home and answered any questions people had. I highly recommend this tour!

The guide. The food was perfect but that is expected. The guide was spectacular. Not only was she knowledgeable ( I assumed she went to culinary school but she said no) but also she took a diverse group and turned it into a cohesive whole. Absolutely perfect.
